06/09/2012 – B&B Around the Globe

06/09/20128

60 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

Lots of sun and a nice warm wind to wake up to, beautiful !

It’s created a bit of a swell, but doesn’t appear to have done much for the water temp…

I don’t think that’s going to stop them getting wet Matt !?

It’s beautiful once you’re in though.  Honestly !

Some people just can’t relax… it’s amazing what they come up with to keep themselves entertained as we all wait together at Shelly 😉

In case you were wondering why Shelly beach got its name…

About 6 swimmers enjoyed an early lap and only two endured the double afterwards this morning.

A big thank you to Lesley, Ian and John for covering everything for us for the last four days whilst we were off enjoying ourselves 🙂

Good luck to James Partington who is going into hospital today to have a bit of pig implanted in him tomorrow !!  (of course with that bubble you know who the photo is courtesy of :-))

Get well soon to Patrick See too, who is also recovering in hospital after some unplanned surgery this week.  Can’t wait to see you both back in the water soon, but in the meantime don’t forget you’re always most welcome to come to coffee for a bit of TLC.

B&B is very busy on tour at the moment too…

Rob Hawkins has launched the inaugural Coles Bay Nude Cold and Beautiful Classic !!  In Tasmania of all places – excellent Rob 🙂 you would have thought you could have picked somewhere slightly warmer though…

Maybe not, as it seems it’s really catching on…

Denise Elder is enjoying taking B&B around the islands of Italy; at Portovenere just before a 6km swim around the island of Palmaria, plus plenty of time to relax too at Monterosso in the Cinque Terre.

Plus, Denise with fellow B&B swimmer, Terry Stewart from Wollongong who met for the first time at the Dardanelles swim last week 🙂

Michael, Joan, Rob and myself have just returned from a little swimming in Lake McKenzie

Where we also got mugged… apparently that’s what it’s called when the humpback whales get this close to you on the boat 🙂

Plus this photo just in from Adam Moore, of our fabulous team at the finish line of the Maui Channel on Saturday.  Where Adams dad, Ray, also one of our swimmers, joined them on the boat as support crew !!

Seems Adam found fun with the pink at the after party too…

Talk about a small world.  Two of our swimmers from America, Lynn Jolly and Mal Howard were taking a stroll down Wakiki Beach where they ran into the Bold and Beautiful going out for their morning swim and took this great photo !!  Congratulations to all our swimmers who took part in the Waikiki Roughwater swim, which are all those featured below plus Lynn Jolly and Annette & Paul Willows.  Looks like you guys are all having a fabulous time.

Maybe even a slightly educational time…

A reminder to please book in
for our Winter Badge Ceremony at Whitewater for a $10 brekkie straight
after the swim this Sunday, 9th Sept
!  Everyone is welcome… Bookings are essential though for catering purposes, so please book here asap, thank you.

Unfortunately on a sad note, our thoughts are with Jenny Holmes and her family at this time as her Mother sadly passed away last night.

Water Temperature – chilly (cardinal sin, Lesley forgot Michael’s thermometer !)
Air Temperature 16.0
Sunrise 6.07am
Sunset 5.40pm
High Tide: 11.44am

Hi Lesley, the girls didn’t take their tops off. But if the manly girls want to start the trend I am sure the male members of the b&b will not be offended.. Long live SGGW..
