19/09/2012 – Busy Manly!

85 Bold and Beautiful Swimmers!

It was like midday at 6.45am at the beach in Manly today… lots of people..and a tractor!

It was a great morning, sunny and warm… and just look at the ocean!

The day starts…

Water still ‘unbearable’ to get into but only for those first hideous moments!

There were some perfect great little waves on the way out…

Then off we went…..

Viz was like Loch Ness – brown and murky – but that didn’t put us off because we knew the brown was healthy churned up plankton etc. and NOT effluent from the storm!! :-DD

Over at Shelly it was surprisingly clear though …

That lovely warm sun is well and truly back, hovering over us to keep us warm(er)…er…where’s your hat Mr 2nd Pic?? (He forgot it) ..He did say his head was colder without his Special Pink Cap though.

Stephen wearing his new big boy pants! (They are from his Rough Water swim in Hawaii…)

Leaving Shelly behind…

Stunning coming back in…

And a great fun wave..the best kind – big enough but not scary!

14 people did an early swim! I bet you are all dying to know how many did the double? Well it was FOUR  people!!  Here are 3 of them below…They look a bit  crazy to me! 😀

Also – If you cannot get enough of seeing Early Morning Scenes of Manly… there is a photographic exhibition by Sprout Daily of “early morning life on Manly Beach”  – Starts tomorrow night, 20 September at 6.30pm at Berrins, 2 Wentworth Street (Manly) – until 23rd September.

Water Temp: 16.6

Air Temp: Probably 12

Sunrise: 5.47am

Sunset: 5.49pm

Just when you thought hot pink was the most outrageous colour a pair of Speedos can be…along comes Stephen Coulter and Gareth Ball with even more outrageous togs!!

    Another great day for swimming.
Lesley,I had a feeling there was something unusual in the water quality during that second lap.

Looking forward to the photo exhibition at Berrins tomorrow night. Hope to see many B&B friends there, both in real life and on the pictures.
