27/09/2012 – A Swell Ole Time

27/09/201218

75 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

enjoy an exciting start to the day

With clear skies

and plenty of bright smiles as you ‘can too’ be in the pink caps 🙂

There was a slightly disheveled feel to the ocean though

Not exactly surf, but plenty of swell and lots of water moving around making it a fun swim

Lots of blue jellies, beautifully displayed by John B.  No need to panic, they’re not of the stingy kind as they don’t have tentacles 🙂

Swimming beats study for Oliver who decided to join his parents for a swim with us this morning.  You never know, it may just help with the study during this stressful HSC period.  Good luck to all our HSC families out there.

We have had an outstanding response to our B&B Fundraising Trivia night, with all the tables almost full and some fantastic prizes flowing in, so it’s promising to be a really great night, thank you every one !

Miles enjoyed all the messages he received after posting his comment on the blog yesterday, so he’s got another one for you all today…

“A few of our swimmers are hoping to swim from Manly to Bondi either Sat or Sun morning this weekend, and thanks to the response from you guys yesterday they now have someone to accompany them on the boat.  Never content, now they want more… they’re after a couple of people to join them on kayaks.  It’s no mean feat though as it gets pretty swelly on the ocean side of the headlands, but it’s a beautiful cliff line.  So, if you’re up for it and fancy it please give Miles a call on: 0408 490 162”

Meanwhile on tour B&B does Pop Art with Chairman Mao thanks to Libby Kulmar in Berlin 🙂

Water Temperature 17.4
Air Temperature 13.0

Really enjoyed a more turbulent swim today! Glad I remembered my pink cap on the top of the cantoo one. Thanks for the photo Jules! (I made the blog, Sharon Dunne ;))
I just seemed to cruise back to Manly today without putting much effort in to swimming. I think it’s to do with being inbetween 2 stronger swimmers 😉
I thought you were suggesting Miles was after more female volunteers to lard up the swimmers at the weekend Jules. (But I’m sure he’d be up for that!)
Thanks again Jules and co and thanks everyone at breaky for making my friend Roz feel so welcome on her first swim! (Can there be a badge for introducing eg 20 swimmers to the B&B?) Btw I’m going ‘Pink’ hunting today to try and get her to swim with us whilst she is on the Nthn Beaches so if anyone sees her let me know. (I’m good at stalking;)xx

    Hi all,
Missed today…Billy (giant labradoodle won again today and got a walk instead). If anyone ever wants to take a gentle giant for a walk (he will go with anyone), he would love it as I run out of time a lot. His lead is always hanging on the verandah hook of 10 Carlton St, Manly. Just come and take him.
    Cheers Vanessa

That’s good to hear Rainer. Btw some of our most enthusiastic swimmers are back next week after a time away. Michelle Sparkes is back on Tuesday so may swim Wednesday and Little Sarah and Jon are back to swim maybe Thursday or Friday.
Also if anyone wants to borrow a wig for Trivia Night I have quite a collection. A very nice stretchy, sequinned mini dress for any men who would like to be a ladee for the night too!

Just wondering if anyone happened to pick up an Orca wetsuit this morning left by me on the seat next to the shower on the wall? Its a ladies size L with pink trim…. gone missing 🙁
Would love to know, that some kind soul picked up my lost property for safe keeping. Angela

Funny you should mention that Elaine… I find that you can never have too many friends gifted with their hands and willing to share their lard.
