Over 151 Bold & Beautiful swimmers !
A total contrast in the weather to yesterday morning with grey clouds and misty skies, but the water’s still calm and comfy

We know the sun’s not good for us anyway. It seems it’s not good for sunbathing caps either… Note to self, don’t leave your caps, goggles or cossies in the sun to dry 😉

Yeh it’s the weekend and daylight savings starts tomorrow !! 🙂

A few rogue swimmers headed north to the pipe as they heard rumours of jimbles from the early lappers… but there were still a tonne of us who braved the front-line, enjoying playing dodgems all the way to Shelly and back

Even a blanket of this little critters

doesn’t stop the smiles.

It’s certainly doesn’t stop everyone swimming back either 🙂 After all you know you’re alive when you’ve been kissed by a jimble. As Robbie B said this morning “he really feels part of the group now he’s been stung.” Plus he had Michael’s voice ringing in his ears, words of encouragement which I can’t quite remember 😉

Robert simply surrendered his body to the Jimbles

and this gorgeous Numbfish was swimming around in the shallows offering his services.

I’ve heard of Media Tarts, which of course we excel at, but we seem to have developed a new variety called Blog Tarts 🙂

Did I say Media Tarts… check out page 21 of the Daily Telegraph today ! Whoops, not sure what happened to the group photo 😉 Hey Sharon… How many points to I get for this ???

The quote of the day has to go to John S, holding this fish with his son Jack saying “and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this fish !” Really !?!?

The largest swimming family group definitely goes to the Williams this morning, with Megan and Andy, Andy’s two sisters Mahdi and Vicki who are cuddling Mahdi’s two daughters, Anneka and Jessica. Pretty cool hey 🙂

Some photos in from Elaine… Not sure quite what’s going on here… !? But clearly it’s time to send my Mother back to the UK ! She’s still got
another 3 mornings with us before she flies out on Tuesday, but a quick note to say thank you to
everyone for helping to make her trip so enjoyable.

Don’t forget to put your clocks forward one hour tonight as Daylight Savings starts – you don’t want to be an hour late for swimming in the morning !!
A great photo taken by Stephen yesterday… any idea who it is ??

Water Temperature 17.6
Air Temperature 15.0
Sunrise 5.25am
Sunset 6.01pm
High Tide: 11.45am
Low Tide: 8.27pm

I must have swim through the scenic jimble route for over 5 mins near Shelly. Fortunately, I hadn’t listened to those yesterday who had suggested wet-suit season was over (though they still find the gaps!).
Not so fortunate was Jo in her bikini who got covered with stings. Hope you and any others who got nasty stings are doing well. How’s your nose, Bianca?
OK, now I feel properly back at home:)

Calm water today, pity we had a jimble escort on the approach to Shelly.
We have had over 100 swimmers in each of the last 4 days.
Nice pic,Julie,in today’s paper. I notice the rest of us were deleted, lol.
There are now 3 swimmers over the 700km mark in the coastal challenge.

Little Sarah, so sorry to have abandoned you in what sounds like jimble hell this morning! Hope you and the other casualties are recovering well. I’ll be there tomorrow morning, promised!!

Forgive me my rogue behaviour…it’s just that Midge almost convinced me not to go in at all. So a jaunt north seemed the best way to avoid an anxiety attack from my not so nice pink friends….

Do you actually lose points on the Spreddy Sharon if you keep getting cut out of media shots? A few of us Media Tarts, like Brenton,007 and myself, hung around posing for hours yesterday for The Telegraph photos, only to ‘not be used’… again! The Channel 10 whale interview, Relay for Life photo and now this!
Remember Murrays tonight after around 8pm for the Jeff Duff concert thingy. The Blog Tarts are going and quite a few others. Hope to see you then or tomorrow. Don’t let the jimbles put you off. I had loads on my arm and Stephen’s spray from the US of A really worked. (Hope no-one else has suffered from them badly.)

Maybe canola oil, or even Izzy’s truffle oil, might be a jimble deterrant? If anyone wants to get sprayed tomorrow I’ll hand the bottles to Joan (sorry only men need apply 😉

Jules,
Why don;t we start a jellyfish calendar and see if they become predictable like they are in Hawaii – jimbles only happen 7 to 10 days after a full moon. Today is 7 days since full moon!! http://www.808jellyfish.com/ We have a calendar and record which days there are Jimbles/Blue Bottles etc and intensity – few, many, plague(like today)

Ok three things:1. Jules, swimsuit shot is awesome. Work it. I wrote a book about ladies like you. 2. Stephen that photo is wonderful!!! 3, Jimbles suck. I have a welt across my forehead and nose which would definitely not qualify me for page 21 of the Tele…
