103 Bold & Beautiful swimmers
Get wet to celebrate the fact that’s it’s Friday and just like every other day of the week and the year, that’s a swim day π

Michael and Jessie both looking cool in their dark goggles

Chris and Cass flying high as they jump over a wave to start

Time to bask in the sun and catch your breath at the point after a fun and bumpy start

A nice but somewhat turbulent swim across the bay.Β It was a little rougher than it looked.Β Someone even lost their cap… never mind, come and see me before the start of your next swim and thanks to Vicki Harbutt from Access Communications I can give you another one π

Lots of the usual mandatory love ‘n laughter at Shelly

Bruce thought I was taking photos of the good lookin’ guys this morning, so of course, here ya go π

Whoops someone nearly missed out, phew, just in time Stephen π

As Paige and Michael torpedoed into Shelly it seems there was something exciting going on at the Bower ??

Rainer knew if he was patient he’d get his chance… have you noticed that some of our lovely blog tarts only seem to comment on the blog when they feature in a photo !? π

The northerly swell picked up a little in the 30 minutes that we were swimming across the bay and back, so there were a few more waves to play in or dodge between on the way back in.
John seems rather proud to be sporting his first jimble sting.Β He’s been hanging out for that moment π

Another fab swim setting everyone up for another great day.Β Weekend here we come π

5 swimmers continued on up and down for a double lap, plus there was lots of early B&B activity too: 4 swimmers swam to Shelly at 6.15, another 12 at 6.30; 6 from Half Way and 6 the whole way and another 5 went to Queensie.
Some good news for all you early birds and distance daemons, the official Bolderdash swims start on Monday, 29th October.Β Bolderdash is a 3km swim from Manly to Queensie return, leaving Manly at 5.50am, giving enough time for everyone to make it back to the beach or at least the point in time to join the 7 o’clock swim from Manly to Shelly if they choose.
Guess what… Bolderdash kilometres count towards the Pacific Challenge too !!!Β And… due to the amount of interest Bolderdash will be official 7 days a week starting on Monday.Β
I won’t guarantee to be there at all Bolderdash swims, but I’m sure someone will, so feel free to join in.Β If the sheets are not down there when you enter the water they will be by the time you get out so PLEASE
tick in both the blue and green folder if you do both !!Β Or just the appropriate one if you only do one.Β You will even be able to see whose done what swims on the daily attendance too as each name will have a separate icon depending on which swims they completed that morning !Β Cool hey π
Whilst we’re battling it out here Libby’s doing it tough in massive surf at San Sebastian…

John Scully, one of our swimmers, provides advice on all matters financial including: superannuation, investment, retirement, tax planning and insurance through his company Financial Wisdom.Β John will offer a 15% discount on all financial services to all B&B swimmers so if you need help with your pending tax return, or any other financial matters give him a call on 9874 3796 or visit his website here
Uhmmm… photo just in from Stephen… what can I say.Β I think I’ll leave the commentary to you guys π

Oh and there’s more (from Stephen), the first one makes me feel dizzy !

We should start counting all doubles before and after each main swim… not just the bolderdashers. Anyone agree/disagree??

Don’t know about anyone else, but I for one would like to see The Crusader back in his correct outfit. Russell, you need your headgear. I love seeing the Crusader sailing forth on the waves!

Good luck Rob & Emer!
Rainer, we’ll have to do a relaxed bolderdash one morning before Jon & I leave on Thurs!
Rob, I know it would be a huge sacrifice of speed for you to swim by my side, but maybe you could consider it as a charity swim:-)
Anyone else willing to keep me company will have plenty of opportunities for sight-seeing along the way:-)

Little Sarah, yes, very keen doing a (scenic) bolderdash with you. Just not sure about the 5:50 start. Sounds cruel. Is there a 7am option on e.g. Sunday? π
Rob / Emer – good luck with your ironman on Sunday! We’ll be thinking of you as we sip our cappuccinos around 8am..

……but fifi I didn’t see you out there this morning, however I did notice your name ticked in the book????
π
Michael E, as well as counting all doubles before and after each main swim… not just the bolderdashers, we should also be counting other swims throughout the week IF pink caps are worn. The course from Manly to Shelley is alive on the weekends with pink caps.
And young Julie.I, Stephen’s image of you both just doubles the strength of that beautiful smile!

Good luck Rob and Emer !! Hope you’re feeling better Rob ?? Look forward to the on tour photos with the pink caps and the 70.3 medals π
VERY HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY AMY !! xxx
Rainer, 5.50am swims are beautiful, especially as we move into summer. You get the beautiful calm water before the winds get up. Well worth getting up for π Come December, every Saturday during summer we offer an ‘official’ (still at your own risk of course, just means it counts towards the Pacific Challenge AND a badge) 6km swim which continues on from the 7am swim. Start doing some early Bolderdash’s and you’ll smash out the casual 6kms. Oh and not to forget the monthly summer 10km swims too π
Elaine, have fun at Jazz in the Vines, sounds fun π Don’t forget your pink cap, there could be a good photo opportunity π

So what you’re really saying is, Rainer, grow a pair and come down at 5:50 like the rest of us. π
