27/10/2012 – Swimming in Style

27/10/20128

Over 148 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

Kick off the weekend in style.  A very stylish swim it was too, a beautiful day and gorgeous conditions !

Talking of stylish… Fifi and Andrew looking good on the B&B cat walk.

You could join the pink dots at the point this morning 🙂

You couldn’t see too much below the water once you left the shallows, but plenty to see and lots of fun to be had at Shelly

Including Alyson celebrating not just one or two things, but three !!

  1. Martin, Ayson’s husband, enjoyed his first ever swim with us, both ways !
  2. In the fantastic, fun wetsuit that she won in the silent auction at our Trivia night earlier this week, that fitted Martin perfectly, not a chafe or a mark on him anywhere !
  3. Alyson is 3 months pregnant !

Congratulations guys 🙂 xx

Everyone re-energised ready for the swim back

Michael A was feeling a little blurry this morning, it shows too 😉

A little social chit chat at the point before negotiating our way back to shore

giving us time to spot our most reliable aquatic friend, the photogenic catfish

and the largest flathead I’ve ever seen on the Manly side of the swim.  Check him out !!!  He looked so comfy before I accidentally moved him on.  What an impression he left in the sand too !

The camera never lies… it’s true, Vicki came in to the beach and there was ‘a wave’ 🙂

Another great swim with great friends !

Sharon’s very happy to be ‘back’ in the water and proudly sporting her new tattoo 🙂

Talking of back…  For everyone who has been swimming with us for longer
than 2 and a half years you are sure to remember Jeremy.  Well, Jeremy is now
super excited to be back from his working stint in Melbourne, now
retired so no excuses, he’s back to B&B and promises to be a regular face again too.  Glad to have you back Jeremy 🙂

A few swimmers swam early but no note, so don’t know exact statistics.  We do know however, that 8 swimmers continued on after the regular swim to enjoy a double lap of Shelly and another 4 continued on up to Queensie and back.

Lots of talk around town about the first official Bolderdash of the season, with lots of people keen to be part of the first one to kick it off, so don’t be shy, come on down and give it ago this coming Monday.  The conditions are looking good too.  In the water at 5.50am for a leisurely swim up to Queensie and back, back in time to join in the regular swim to Shelly with everyone at 7am.  A separate tick sheet for the two swims, to please tick them both if you do both.  Blue for Shelly, Green for Bolderdash and of course Pink for any first timers as well please.

Some more great photos from this morning courtesy of Simon

who joined a few pink caps in some body surfing at the end of the swim instead of a double lap.  Rumour has it it was the best body wave of the season so far 🙂

There’s a video to follow too.

As we get to see and share in, time and time again, we have so much wonderful talent amongst our group.  Check out this for the latest.  Jenny K’s latest painting inspired from one of our fishie photos on the blog.  Just beautiful !

Also our very own innovator Greg McDonagh, featuring in a surfing magazine, Pacific Longboard Rider, with an image of him both now and ‘a few’ years ago when he was a strapping 23 and designing his own surfboards !

Who knows what tomorrow will bring.  What you do know though, is that you don’t want to miss it !  See ya’s all in the morning, 7am 🙂

More photos from the trivia night now on the website from Jeff.  There are 3 separate galleries on the one page, so please be sure to enjoy them all here

Also Michael shared this photo, he’s pretty sure it’s one of our blog tarts trying to smile underwater 🙂

I’m very impressed Sharon, getting a tattoo just to get a blog shot. Innovation seems to be the word for the day.
Fifi and Drinks, I’m sure you will get a reminder or two of this weeks catwalk blog shot!!
    Looking good as always. 🙂

Hi Shaun …. I know….it’s quite a thing to go and have a tattoo, so that I can make a blog appearance!!!
Did you notice my other appearance anyone ? (Always go for wearing the snorkel – instant recognition!)
