Im pretty sure I only came second! (Need to stay humble)
So nice to be greeted with such warm congrats from everyone this morning, its only because of the B&B group that myself and Emer were able to complete the event as swimming wasnt exactly our strong point in training! *cough*
Thanks Lesley for the double blog-tart spreddy points too. Even better than an IM medal!
Rainer wont speak to me now though as he only talks to his fellow boulderdashers…pah!
Little Sarah I will miss you! See you soon. x

Great blog Lesley, thank you ! Sorry about intruding in with Stephen’s ‘art’ at the end.
Love the clarity in the beautiful shot of the flying stingray 🙂
Did Rob do an Ironman event… why on earth didn’t someone mention that before. You really shouldn’t be so shy Rob 😉
Great to see Wilf back, looking doubly terrific after his great effort in the World Championship Triathlon in Auckland in extremely challenging conditions.
Missing you already Jon and Little Sarah x
Loved today ? Tomorrow’s gonna be even better ! Don’t believe me, come down and find out for yourself 🙂

    Haha thanks Lesley!!
Three kilometres on the Pacific Challenge in one morning…woohoo, see ya Brad!! Look out Michael C, I’m getting closer to your #1 position!!
Thanks to James G for swimming with me on my first Bolderdash.
For everyone else: it’s not even scary, just really beautiful – I really recommend it because you’ll be happy all day!!
    xx

Oh! I’m really terrified Lucy. Only another FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVEN [507] KILOMETERS and you’ll have caught me up.

    On a more realistic note:
Congratulations to Rob and Emer on their IM/2.
Particularly congrats to Wilf for a HUGE effort. 14 degree water with chop and wind! Not many of us could handle that. Then to get through the bike and half the run. TREMENDOUS.
I know all about stopping when you shouldn’t. [done it many times] Next year I’ll second for you Wilf and you’ll finish or we’ll bury you half way along the run leg!!!!

Poor John! I intended to go for a double with you but I hurt my left arm at the very beginning of the first lap…
So how long has this Pacific Challenge be running for? The website says “2nd stage”, does it mean there was a first stage? I am stuck in column 5 but will aim for column 3 before I leave Australia.
Lesley, I am very tempted by a bolderdash tomorrow! I think Michael told me this morning he would do it as well.

Go Hard Lucy – you’ll pass him!!!
Take no notice of those disparaging comments – don’t let him psych you out!
    Remember double shelleys don’t count!

Boldercrawl 2 and Rainer and I made it “all the way”:-) As you can see in the pics, everyone else looks like “yeh, that was a breeze, done it before”, while we are so excited to be under the pink heart for the first time:-) A beautiful full moon as we started and then the sunrise…. the scenic crawl is the way to go!
Special thanks to Jules (and to all those who assist her) for making all this possible – this is a life for those who forget!
Also thanks to you all for all the friendly encouragement and especially to those who’ve kindly buddied up with me on this visit for my best swims ever: RAINER, Rob B, Ian, Wilf, Emma, Mark A, Elaine, Neil, Greg & Jon – I couldn’t do them without you!
See you all soon. Good luck to all those on the Rehab Run with injuries.
    Go Blog Tarts & all!

Ironman.. yeah yeah, whatever. You’re not a man until you have a bolderdash under your belt Rob!! 🙂

  • Rainer

    31/10/2012 at 3:07 pm

    Thanks Little Sarah!
For everything.. for your positive encouragement. For motivating me to come down (almost) every morning. And for pushing me into my first doubles and bolderdashes.
I was barely able to do the Shelly swim when we started back in July. And now look at us, 4k swims before work like it’s sipping a cappuccino!! 🙂
Have a great trip back to HK and look forward to having you both back here in December. 6k badge here we come!!
PS: Congrats on column 1!! You’re 4.5k ahead of Elaine. Means you should be safe for at least a week.. 🙂

Bolderdash the highlight of the day. Downhill from there. Banged up & bandaged after another specky fall off the bike. Hopefully back in water tomorrow and a walk to work.
Got big sis back in town on Friday – see if she can do Shelly & back with her new wetsuit from trivia night.

Hi all. I just wanted to give Julez a wrap.
Appart from showing her pleasant polite manner to all the newbies every single day,
Some one informed me that the beautiful was coming off my cossies and I was just bold. (Beautiful was just taking it too far)
Julez noticed it and went to great lengths to replace them fo me. I actually thought that continuous use over 9 months sice I them was fair enough. But Julez replaced them without me raising a query.
I recommend if you were buying anything through the website, that warranty is not a problem!!!!!
So, now I am bold AND beautiful again.
Also thank you Brenton for pointing out that the B was still in tact therefore I was not just “old”

Oh yeah – he even “acted surprised” to see us at the start of the bolderdash. hehe

Well done Rob and Emer for completing the Ironman and Wilf for his efforts in the NZ triathlon.
Have a safe trip back to HK Sarah and Jon.
No double lappers today, so enjoyed a paddle on my surf ski in beautiful Sydney Harbour.
