07/11/2012 – Feeling Blue!

07/11/201220

71 Bold and Beautiful Swimmers

It wasn’t only the weather that looked a bit blue….

Some strange blue goings on! Jules and Ian testing out Wallace and Gromit’s…I mean Stephen’s latest invention… The Blue Bottle Suit! Designed to scare away stinging jelly fish (and make you swim faster/ keep the sun off)… They were a bit tough to get on…

Eventually success…one of my favourite shots of Jules so far :-DD

Yeah! …Though  they don’t seem to keep away wondering hands!

…and Ian struggled to get his quota of hugs …. 🙂

Biggish waves again today – so some went through the surf and the others opted for the lucky-we-have it half way option….

Half way….

I was talked into trying one too!!

A happy birthday to Cathie Coleman at Shelly…

Back to half way…

and some body surfing for the others…. Jenny K and friends below!

Cathie at breaky enjoying her birthday cake and how the hell does she look that good after her swim??

News from the The Bolderdash.…from Simon Cowell – It started with 6 leaving the beach at 6.55,  huge surf meant it took 7 minutes for 5 to meet way way out the back (1 turned back). 21 minutes later 4 (Richard, Simon, Roberto & Miles) reached Queensie (1 ?Evan turned back at Nth Steyne). We were so far out we swam passed 4 x sharknet buoys. As the wind was NNE the return trip was 2 minutes longer but some of us (Simon & Richard) were rewarded with a long wave ride almost to the beach.

Bold and Beautiful On Tour

I think this wins the Top Prize!! – Craig below and Prince Charles!!

Craig said Charles liked his Pink Cap! 🙂

Happy Birthday Cathie Coleman, Anne Wilson and James Partington!!

STATS: 4 bolderdashers, 10 early Shelly, 3 doublers

Water temp: 18.2

Air Temp: 19

That’s it from me this Wednesday! Bolderdash tomorrow? Anyone? Gulp – NOT if it was like today!! Lesley 🙂

Although the blue suits feel good, they are obviously not very flattering. We all look like a bunch of teletubbies! Now I know why Stephen was getting everyone else to try out the suits, while he went without.

I think they look cute Ian. But the colour, hmm I’m not so sure. The one of you and Jules, you look like an enormous blue-ringed octopus.
And you’ve done a good photo Richard — Roberto has a big star above him, just like baby Jesus.

The blue suits do clash a bit with the pink, but should be eyecatchingly fine for Mardi Gras if set off with an orange boa and nice freshwater pearl earrings.
Fifi, SS and I saw the big flathead this morning, it has a really big vertical tail. It may have been the tail that made you think it was a dusky.

Ooh exciting day!! I have a new man-friend according to the BB Daily Attendance. Same name, different face…
Who are you Brad Edwards 2.0? Will you be home for dinner?!
p.s. The blue suits looked hot. I can’t believe they haven’t already caught on in the world of swimming?! Strange…

So that’s what the ongoing joke with the big flathead is about! We’re indeed yet to see a picture of a dusky!

They’d have to come in pink, surely ! They must know there’s no market for blue in Australia.
