18/11/2012 – Pink Frames the Scene

18/11/201212

OVer 145 Bold & Beautiful swimmers !

Pink frames the scene at 7am on Manly Beach every single morning of the year.  We’re more reliable and regular than the sun !

That must be why the weekend paparazzi love us so much

The guy bottom left of the photo above showed me a couple of his great photos and suggested I get down low, as you capture the beautiful reflections on the then water too.

I think I was already too far into the water myself when I tried it this morning.  But… watch out for photographic genius tomorrow 😉

A beautiful calm morning, with no wind or swell, perfect swimming conditions 🙂

Lots of smiles, although to be fair we have them regardless of the weather.

A little bit of blue sky trying to break through

and our daily swimwear fashion show !  Between us I’m pretty sure we cover the whole range of apparel that’s available.

There’s always time to make that quick adjustment to your position at Shelly, making sure you sneak, or alternatively become the main feature, in the blog 🙂

Another reliable thing… you can always find Ian enjoying the company of the ladies.  This morning it was actually his lovely wife Pauline 🙂

6 swimmers enjoyed a lovely Bolderdash and no swimmers doubling today as all 12 of them ventured up to Queensie with 5 of those choosing continuing on into Shelly again afterwards making it a leisurely 6km swim for the morning.

Sharon took us on tour yesterday.  After the swim Sharon drove to Mount Penang Parklands, Kariong for a swim with a difference (full of mud this time!) the 5km Stampede race!!  With 26 obstacles including an ice plunge bath, a 50m water slide and plenty of wading through mud !  Well done Sharon, looks like you had fun 🙂

Gaetan went back in to Cabbage Tree Bay for a snorkel yesterday afternoon and enjoyed some quality time with a beautiful Wobbegong.  You can view his video here

As you are aware Bluewater offer B&B swimmers fantastic $2 take away coffees anytime, all day, every day if you show them your B&B card which you can purchase from me at any morning swim !!  To take advantage of this great offer you must take the ‘take away’ coffee away and the offer is for the order of one take away coffee per order, per card.

I know – where was Rainer? no blog tarting this morning and no brekkie too..Where is the blog king??(mind you I did sneak the on tour photo in from yesterday!!)
I also managed to keep up with the group on the way back today (despite my cuts and bruises from Stampede yesterday!) thanks to my new super fast fins!!

I should add – believe it or not, that photo was taken after some of the mud had been washed away!

Rainer, Col and all – they did make great blog tart pics and the showers looked nice! Hope you’re recovered by now.
Jane, was wondering where you were, so glad to hear you’ll be back in the water soon.
We were dodging amongst the mass of surfers at Big Wave Bay in Hong Kong this morning (sorry, no camera)….

Elaine, Snorkles, LSA – had to give swimming a miss today as lip was still huge this morning. In fact, bigger than yesterday! Thanks for asking.
Saw doctor and, after having a good laugh at my expense, she gave me Sone Tablets (Prednisone) which are showing good results so far. I might even be ready to join tomorrow’s swim.
Sone tabs are not over the counter, but highly recommend them for full on stings in around mouth/lips, as the swelling can be severe. I was close to not going to work tomorrow if it wasn’t for those pills.
Despite all this, I can’t wait to get back in the water!! It’s all so worth it!!! 🙂

    Hi Rainer,
My lip reacted the same – very large today.
I have not taken medication and hope the botox effect wears off soon.
My boys have had a field day and sent me a shot of Herr Lipp from the League of Gentlemen.
He does look like he has been Jimble kissing. Speedy recovery, Col.
