20/11/2012 – Hitting the High Notes

20/11/201241

95 Bold & Beautiful swimmers

venture out on this wintry spring morning.  11 days and it’s summer, hard to believe I know.

Fifi reaching for the high notes as a few nice waves roll through

Nice and calm out the back

Making for a smooth swim across the bay

With visibility improving and no stingers – yeh !!

Plenty of Stingarees though 🙂

and lots of bubbles

14 early lappers to Shelly, 12 Bolderdash and 4 doublers.

After
an early swim Nicole was playing in the waves with Gaetan and got a
little too close for comfort when she kissed Gaetan’s lower back.  What
is it with you people wanting to kiss painful things ??  Everyone
rallied to help as Nicole came up painted red.  She’s having a morning
visit at the hospital just to be sure everything is where it should be.
Hope your feeling right as rain real soon Nix xx

All that and poor Nix didn’t even get a photo as ‘The Joker’ raconteur still had centre stage 😉

At Shelly too it seems… photos below from Stephen

If anyone is looking to do a spring clean of their wardrobe and like me needs serious help.  Lesley is your woman !  Lesley spent 4 hours helping me go through my entire wardrobe last week and now I have absolutely nothing left.  Oh dear, what a shame, now we just ‘have’ to go shopping !

Seriously, Lesley is a personal shopper and stylist in her spare time and she was great.  She has a presentation to help you learn what style and colours you should be wearing and it actually works !  For the first time in my life I’m actually looking forward to going shopping as I won’t have to waste time trying on clothes that now I understand won’t suit me.  Revelation !  Thankfully Lesley will be shopping with me just in case I get distracted 🙂

Upcoming social functions:

  • B&B CHRISTMAS PARTY, put it in your diary now, Wed, 12th Dec from 6.30pm upstairs at The Steyne Hotel ! Please RSVP here now too.  It’s Retro theme so dress up and come and boogie the night away.  It will be a great night, party food
will be provided and drinks can be purchased from behind the bar throughout the night.
    Don’t miss it !
  • November’s B&B special
monthly Bluewater Dinner is on a Wednesday this month, on 28th
    Nov
    .
If you’d like to come but haven’t
booked in please do so now, here  thank you.

iSwimtoo is currently leading the WOWSA awards as 2012 leading new swimming offering in the world.

“The Lips formely known as Rainer” is going to dine on this for weeks!!! Although I’m a bit worried that his fullness is making him dribble uncontrollably (check out a close up of the last photo for evidence!!)
The funniest part is despite Rainer (4 points) being centre stage for a great deal of the blog today, I am claiming the ‘in-the-background’ shots today and so have FIVE points 🙂
Good to see Nige appearing on the spreadsheet again today (one point!)
E-Lane didnt we do well with our Jetstar like jumps!

I Just came back from the hospital. xrays all clear. under observation for a while.
Nicole did her 1st bolderdash swim yesterday and decided to have a quiet swim in the waves today.
It is much safer doing a bolderdash.
She is feeling prety sore but in good spirits and is under instruction to get as much sympathy as she can.

hahaha snorks. Tell Rainer he has to hold his hands much wider apart if he was talking about dolphins.

That is good to hear about Nicole – rest up and we’ll see you soon!

Glad to hear she’s recovering well. Agree, bolderdash can be the more peaceful swim, with less chance of getting hit by stray arms and legs.
Happy to re-direct some of my lip attention to Nicole if it helps.. got plenty of it at the moment!!

Well played snorks! Background shots should only count as half points!!
Shaun, do you have any scars to show for your ‘dolphin’ encounter? I rest my case..

Only emotional scars from not being on the Whale day Lippy. The only thing they gave me was a pile of Loving!! Dolphins also told me they sent in the assasin jible to “take you out”. What did you do to upset them??

At this stage Nic has a very sore face and her upper back muscles are giving her hell. She should now be resting at home.

Thank you Tiger. As luck had it, I only practiced spinal carries on the weekend. Who would have thought???
Gaetan probably needs a rub on his lower back and backside but there were not many volunteers for that one.

Thanks to Alex and the Frosty Nuts for chipping in for some flowers for Nicole. I’ll deliver those on the way home. I needed to take a bit out of the kitty for freight, waterproof wrapping, pollen insurance and hospital admission fee, but I’m still pleasantly surprised how nice a bouquet you can get for $8.

4hrs fumbling with Lesley in my wardrobe? Sure why not.
And Sharon, Alex was asking why you’re called ‘Snorkles’? Just out of interest, how long can you hold your breath?

  • "Snorkles"

    20/11/2012 at 12:55 pm

Hmmm, the breath hold gag?! I don’t know these days, I’ll have to get some practice in!

Lesley – love the idea of the spring cleaning episodes!
Have you a team event for tomorrow? Rainer and I come as a pair (in the BnB sense of course!) these days !

Lesley – I’ll go off the antihistamines for tonight, so my lip is ready for prime time tomorrow morning!!

Yesterday wasn’t just ‘our Jules’page 3 in The Tele.
There is also a youtube link to a commercial from the day of filming.
I’m guessing most people don’t know it’s there as there are currently only 7 views, should be at least another 3193 !!!
    Here’s the link http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RiJWlO4amh0
Fantastic Jules, we all love what you’ve done.xx

    Hi everyone,
As Shaun mentioned, Nicole is back home now with Iain looking after her.
We went for an early QC run before bolderdash and saw QC was quite messy/big so we thought we’d rather be safe and stick around south steyne play in the waves. WRONG IDEA it was :-))
A wave came in an I jumped up, and Nicole duckdived. The wave pushed me back and sideways and we collided. She hit me nose/head first at the bottom of my back, it was so hard that I thought I hit a surfboard, and she thought the same.
This is how easy accidents happen!
Except a probably broken nose, all the other body parts (mainly neck and back here) seem to be fine and hopefully she’ll be back swimming by the weekend.
On a more positive note, everyone was absolutely fantastic, Old&Bold, Bold&Beautiful, Ambulance paramedics, Hospital staff (we even had Patrick checking on her there) so THANKS A LOT EVERYONE and see you tomorrow morning 🙂
