Absolutely disgusting! Awful conditions…
BUT we still turned up and soldiered on…
Pure torture…
Noone was relaxed…
The sun burnt our eyes…
The waves were HUGE and scary..

James P gives himself 2 thumbs up…because he braved these conditions this morning…He was overheard saying ‘this is my first time, since coming back, that I will be swimming all the way, I’m terrified…it’s one of the worst days I’ve experienced”
Murky and visibility was almost zero….
Heaps of pollution!! Look at all those plastic bags!!!
Lips/LTB/Rainer had to put his wetsuit back on!
Jeremy’s first day back after 18 months…he looks miserable!
There were sharks everywhere!!
Robbie tried to escape…it was no use… he HAD to risk it and swim back…. He took the speedy “Elevator Ride” in…. (see Robbie for details)
Haha yes of course – ANOTHER awful day in PARADISE!!! It was pretty perfect except for that cool westerly blowing! Tomorrow should be the SAME but less cold wind, slightly bigger waves?

Worst day ever indeed..
Little Sarah, Jon, and I made it all the way to Queensie only to find that none of the Bolderdashians brought a camera today. No photographic proof! What a waste of a morning!!!

What a beautiful swim to Queenscliff this morning!
The water was like glass and much warmer than the reported 20.5c. The swell was virtually non existent and there were about twenty smiling faces waiting for everyone at the ‘heart’.
It really does not get much better than this.

Heavy weights of the super slows going head to head on the way back.
Slowest Shaun Vs Little Sarah.
Not a fare match really as LS was heading off to Shelley for the 4.5 K total after the bolder.
Stroke Rating of 4 per minute, picked it up to 5 per minute – LS still there.
Delierium set in – I thought I saw a pillow swim past,
I shook my head and kept going – Turned out to be Lips.
Sorry to hear about Graham going away. One less friendly face in the morning. 🙁

Yes, pretty tough B-crawl….. can’t complain about my super-supportive partners, Lips & Jon and then Emer on the home stretch from Shelly (after Rob unceremoniously dumped me), but had to put up with enjoying the sunrise, sight-seeing breaks along the way, swimming with 2 dolphins (did I tell you SS? Btw, look f/w to the next Super Slow Head On) and then having to wait at least 20 mins for Michael at The Heart (even though he’d insisted on setting off early with us)!
Still rumour has it that any PC leader gets shipped out to the Wild West and his turn has come. As I speak, I believe he’s packing his bags preparing for the trip to set up a lovely home for Jules with the walls covered with B&B pics, roses in every room, a lovely shark-free swim beach around the corner. And remember your apron for all the baking you’ll be doing ready for her arrival, Michael:-)
