08/12/2012 – Stimulating, Spectacular, Superb Saturday Swim

08/12/20127

Over 204 Bold & Beautiful swimmers kick off their weekend in stunning style

With Mark and Uncle Ross enjoying taking Jasmine for her first swim with us 🙂

Maybe a few more swims and we can look forward to Laura and Jasie (Mark’s gorgeous twins) both doing the swim with us together 🙂

Everyone so much more relaxed getting into these balmy summer waters, with happy summer smiles

Tiny rolling waves still make some of us jump though…

We’ve said it a million times.  We’re SOOOO lucky in B&B, it’s the best leveler.  All stripped back to basics in just a pair of cossies and goggles (well for most of us ;-)).  It doesn’t matter where we’re from or what we’ve got, the whole damn lot is totally irrelevant as we all float and swim together in Paradise Bay.  As Graham said last night at his farewell drinks, “we’re even all the same height.”

We really are all equal in our pink caps 🙂

With everyone making the most of the time for a little social interaction at Shelly before we enjoy more of the same magic on the way back

This morning lent itself perfectly to a stunning 6km Summer Badge Swim.  The seas are calm, warm and stinger free 🙂

No wonder 20 swimmers embraced the opportunity !  Well done to everyone, especially all the first timers which included Little Sarah and Jon Abbott who set off a little early and timed it perfectly to meet us all up at Freshie Rock Pool before the return trip to a well earned brekkie 🙂

To see who the clever 20 are, featured in the photo below, check out today’s daily attendance, they’re the ones with the superman 6 next to their names 🙂

What a superb farewell swim for Graham to finish up with.  Those memories should keep you going for a while.  Drive safely and we look forward to seeing you on your next road trip, soon we hope !

Brad made a fantastic suggestion last night:  Make the B&B Calendars $20 each and $5 from each sale goes to Royal Far West !!  Any objections ??  We’re going to order 300, first in best dressed.  Reckon that’s enough ??  They’ll go on sale very soon, I have the proof calendar in my hot little hand… it looks sensational !!  You’ll definitely need one for yourselves, your family, the in-laws, your friends, your boss, oh and don’t forget your neighbours 🙂

called ‘Please Marry My Boy!’
So, Jodi was wondering… are there any fun (brave) Mums in B&B who want to go on TV to marry off their sons ??  Let us know if that’s you and we’ll pass on your details to Jodi.

6K Club to Club: 2 hrs 48.30 (a record?) I can only say it was perfect!
Highlights: seeing all the other pink caps approaching Freshie; being greeted by the gentle waves and Buddy Lips at S.Steyne; finding some of the other 6Kers were still having b’fast at Bluewater and of course, the divine swimming:-)
Special thx to Jon who needed serious persuasion to keep me company. He and Jules are rumoured to have been sharing tips at b’fast on strategies for swimming with a super-slow partner, such as swimming to Shelly with soft clenched fists and crossing from Shelly to Queensie with legs crossed . Don’t think I’m quite ready for those tips:-)
    Lips: Next week for sure!!

    Congratulations again!!!
What an achievement, especially considering that you and Jon were barely a week back in the country today! Was great seeing you and the 6k heroes for brekkie afterwards..
Really hope you’ll do another one soon. With me! 🙂
DWSS – you should try too. I really think you’re ready for the 6k. Especially after last weekends 5.4k swim in the harbour!
