Gosh Rob, how did you find out it’s my birthday? I’ve been trying to keep it a secret!! I bet it was Michael C, he’s always trying to draw attention to our big day…
The life-size sponge cake sounds delicious Rob!! I can’t wait to have a piece of Brad (what?!! I had to say it!!) hahaha.
Those three books are all on my birthday list 🙂

Congratulations to everyone who did the Manly ocean swim yesterday, especially:
– Bruce Baird, first in his age group (2km)
– Brucy Edwards, second in his age group (2km)
– Brucy McFadden, burst into tears on finish line after being stung by a blue bottle *embarro*
– James Goins, volunteer extraordinaire

Good list, Blogster Robster. Annie’s read the advanced manual cover-to-cover and has become a real pro:-)
Young Jack, you’d better begin with the Lips the Nips beginner manual – you were meant to let me win our ocean race to Shelly, so you’d get the blog tart pic with no one behind you in the water, in spite of having started off first! (hint: leave your flippers behind next time!)

Being one of the new Pink n Proud new bronzies, I want to say a BIG THANKS to Tony Tier
our Instructor and another one to Jules who unselfishly recommended to all of us that we join the club to serve the community and a really, really big thanks to Michael C for his additional coaching, mentoring and encouragement when things got tough for me, when for work reasons I was thinking of giving it away.
Go the pink and dusky bronzies!

Thanks Rob!! You’re definitely one of my favourite bloggers.
Appreciate the lack of nudity in today’s post..

Yes, Jack. In fact, both of you…
I was told to ‘monitor’ the epic race between you two ‘slowies’ due to the fact that ‘..you’re so much faster than us, Lips!’. I could barely utter the word ‘go’ and off you went at lightning speed!
How am I supposed to monitor the race if I arrive 5 minutes late??? Jack – lose the flippers! LSA – back in your pink bunny cozzie! Need you both to slow down..

The lack of nudity is purely due to the holidays, expect normal service to resume in due course.

Perhaps we could automate the blog slightly further by a daily photo of Lips Nips to gauge the water temperature when Michael is not here to use the thermometer.

I been to the markets today and got a couple of sugar bag sacks of fish head’n’guts, some aniseed and some stale bread.
I’ve mixed the lot in water in preparation for the burlying.
DW you got any other ingredients to go in?
We should cruise the shark nets tomorrow and see if any dolphin or endangered turtles have been caught we can use in the brewski.

Luuuurve the blog, Robster. I know it’s entirely unintentional, but occasionally you are quite funny, you know.
Also: BIG congratulations to the new B&B bronzies!

Yes squirrel. My dolphin mates tell me it would be a good idea to use some white vests instead of sugar sacks. No idea why but they know what they are doing.

Im still learning on how to ‘blog tart’ – any tips for a beginner lips??? I mean, you wrote the manual.
LSA do you want a rematch??? How does thursday sound? I’ll make sure you win by leaving my flippers at Manly… Maybe…

OK, great! On Thursday the flipperless race may be via Queensie starting at 5.40 a.m!
If you hang around Lips long enough at Shelly, you’re bound to learn some of the his beginner tips, like jumping up and down and wearing a see-through white rashie. Basic stuff but seems to work!
See you soon, Jack. Next time lets sit together at b’fast to discuss future races and strategies to prevent your Dad taking my place in the PC when I go away.
