OK, so by now we all know that the Mayan
calendar is rubbish and of no use to anyone, The B&B 2013 calandar however
is that special gift you’ve been looking for. This is the official apocalyptic
free version. why not get yourself a bb calendar, buy one as a stocking filler, send one home and
show the folks and family what you do at 7am everyday.

Sunday: 23 December 2012
So today started well, I found a car
parking space at South Steyne! Wooohooo.
An empty parking spot is a rare phenomena that is often talked about in Manly but
I’ve never seen one until this morning.
So today’s water conditions were fair to
good. If you like whitewater and waves you’d have loved it today. The RIP was
working very well and you hardly had to swim to get to the point.
Lots of swimmers and only a bit of chop
made it a nice swim to Shelly and back.
Quite a few pics today. There are more cameras out in the water than on a red carpet premier.
Newbies:

Nasty sting ( but not from today)

Craig Mellis with his two sons, Scott and Ian and his Granddaughter, Jene, aged 10 from Queensland.

Clear at the point again today, some strange sea creatures though.

Im not sure where Little Sarahs hand is or what its doing but Santa looks like he is enjoying his time at shelly.

A late entry for Movember and Beardcember

Spice Girls Reunion?

Doctor Patrick shows off his stiching skills. His tip of the day, Goggles broke, fix them with a few staples.

Jules really does like to welcome everyone to swimming in her own ‘special way’

OK hands up, which one of you gave jenny the shiner?

Today’s stats:
Regular shelly
swimmers: Over 190
Bolderdashers: 3
Double lappers: 12
Bluebottles: Zero
Jimbles: Zero – well I stayed sting free
Great Whites: Zero (always a bonus)
BODY SURFING?
Bored of swimming back from the point? Ever
wanted to have a go at body surfing like the cool kids? Check out how a real
Pro does it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aygp8JaMkqQ
Keen to have a go yourself? Hers a quick
video explaining how its done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcipN_n4cJY
XMAS BBQ
Don’t forget that
there is a BYO BBQ over at Shelly beach on Christmas morning after teh swim. Bring food, bring
drink, bring a Santa hat. Bring family, bring friends, hey just tell everyone.

From Stephen C on the subject of all things that sting:

10 KM swim soon
John Bond tells me there is a 10km swim on Jan 5th – any help as ‘support’ land or sea is
appreciated. Let the 10k people know if you can help out.
Water
Temperature: 21.2
Air Temperature: Warm
Sunrise: About 5.45 but I wasnt up to see it so who knows?

Love the blog Tim 🙂 Especially Iggy the King of the calendars, too cute. Surely no-one can resist buying one now!
As for the kiss, it was the mistletoe that did it, honest, after all who could resist!

I second that Tim – the blog is fantastic!!! Love the pup photo and caption at the bottom!
Shall we have a ‘guess whose bum it is?’ Competition??
Rainer – keep the tarting up whilst I’m away – I’m expecting high things!! Keep an eye on that big Wobby I showed you too?
Just a comment on the photo with Rainer and LSA – I can confirm that no Santas were harmed in the making of this photo…..
To Dolphin Whisperer..did we have a ‘moment’ in the water near Shelly? ;-o

Aaahhahaha!! Iggy – our new poster boy. Gorgeous. (How many hours went into that photo shoot, I wonder?)
Blimey I can’t get over missing the mistletoe this morning. Please don’t let me miss it tomorrow if it’s still there. I’m a good kisser.

Can’t think who’d flaunt the sting and tattoo intertwined:-)
Great job, Tim…..almost:-)
Who gave poor Jenny K her black eye coming in through the surf yesterday? We can at least eliminate all the Slowbies who never see Jenny K or any of the pack on the way back.

Tim, great blog. Didn’t expect anything less!
Let me see, cute dog in reindeer horns, close up of sorkles’ fungal rash, smiling kids, canoodling jules and ian, and a black eye thrown in for dramatic effect. I’d say you nailed it.
As for Sarah’s hand reaching for Santa’s lower half, let’s all remember the old BnB saying, ‘what happens at shelly stays at shelly’.. well, except for the blog photos obviously.
Great swim. See you all on Thursday!

This morning’s video blog from Mauricio: http://youtu.be/hpJ_A1Z6TnI
It’s pretty cool watching everyone’s different strokes underwater. Some I recognise without even seeing their faces.
Love the Wobbegong, the flathead, the waves, the sand writing, well actually the whole lot. Thanks Mauricio !
