132 Bold and Beautiful swimmers showed up today…Who needs Borat, Hugh Jackman, Pink etc when you’ve got this gorgeous lot to swim with!

Thursday has been my Blog Day for the last 10 weeks and I’ve always been lucky and copped a clear, warm and sunnyish day. Today was no exception. It was so worth leaving Avalon at 5.15am to catch first light and 7 Bolderdashers going off early.

A few early swimmers set off at 6.20am and 6.25am before they left for work. What a way to start the day! There’s a lot of colour down on the beach this early!

And the hugs begin!

These 2 little Sarahs are about to celebrate ‘something 0’ birthdays soon … They are both warm, friendly, inspiring and youthful looking!

Dr John is back, with brother Rob over from Cardiff. Hugs all round!

I noticed today there is a ‘Men’s Corner’ thing happening as we get ready. The ladies are more to the left and gents more to the right. Of course there are always a few men who like to get right in amongst the ladies like the lovely Greggy!

The sun is shining, the sea weed has gone, no talk of stingers…we all walk down the ramp to swim in calmish seas with a gentle wave or two…

According to his ‘friends’ Drinky has just celebrated a birthday and wants birthday hugs. Lesley and I are happy to oblige. (Sorry Mrs Drinky I got a bit carried away!)

Visibility is getting clearer by the day and I swim towards halfway and see mados, crimson morwong and stingray.

I’m doing some ‘Brick Training’ so run from Halfway Beach to Shelly to catch you all as you get in.;-)

The water is warm and everyone’s happy!

An attempt at an underwater shot and Lesley is cleaning up our ocean again, saving marine creatures from getting tangled up in this rather large bra!

With a ‘Let’s Go’ from Jenny we are off! Stephen got a couple more shots of this amazing jelly fish again with his latest Olympus Tough camera.

I get a goodish stingray photo and a crimson morwong.

And back to shore!

Look at all the happy, smiling, jumping people!

Little Sarah’s Mum has heard all the rumours about Pacific Challenge corruption, anti-stinger drug dispensing and upside down cavorting and has come to check up on her daughter!

Dr Patrick has got some of his Doctor friends to join us for a swim. Here he is caught regaling them with his tale about ‘bonking dolphins in Byron Bay’. Izzy can take him off a treat. Those two need to be down The Boatshed on a Monday night for Comedy Night!

Another amazing swim with conditions almost perfect (just need vis to improve so we can see all the marine life, but won’t be long now…)
Yesterday Little Sarah did an early Bolderdash with a few other ‘Not So Fasties’. They took off at 5.40am and had a magnificent swim as the sun rose. It will get too dark soon so you should think about doing one. You clock up 3 kms on the Pacific Challenge or 4 1/2 kms if you go to Shelly after!
You can do the 6km swim on Saturday too leaving to Shelly first at 7am. More the merrier and fins, wetties etc allowed!
Stephen sent in a great video of thi morning’s pink jelly fish. CLICK HERE

Steven, great colour work with the jelly again.
Have you managed to capture a photo of the black gymple?
You know the jimble that is a bit kinky and stings in all the wrong places.
The word in the dolphin pod is that their looking at making a big return for the Sydney skinny.

So honoured to have another cartoon, LL and love all your pics:-)
I’d say the jelly I saw this morning and the first one Lips pointed out yest. were just the colour in Stephen’s pics and almost florescent. Well photographed, Stephen.
Thx for noticing, Shauny Boy…. Glad you’re keen to swim by my side – always looking for recruits. Will confirm a little later after checking conditions….
Elaine don't mess with Miles he can play nasty if he doesn't get what he wants :)

Lesley, by any chance are you the ‘Swimmer otherwise known as Lesbutt’?? I’m trying to finish one of Elaine’s cryptic crosswords and she’s not giving me any clues.

To quote the great Lainey-Loo ‘you never regret a swim’. I might add to that ‘..and you’ll almost certainly will regret not swimming’
Great blog and cartoons as always! 🙂
LSA – sorry for my no show this morning. Good to see you kept up the blog tarting in my absence. In fact, you had a fantastic run this week. Probably leading Sharon’s spreddy at this stage!
Stephens fake jelly shots look as impressive as ever.. no one rocks Photoshop like Mr Coulter!
See you all tomorrow!

Yes, missed you, Lips! Hope our first bouldercrawl didn’t wipe you out. Lovely conditions today and Errol kindly kept me company on return “all the way”.
What do you think about conditions for Bouldercrawl tomorrow? I fear it might be a bit windy and choppy? I’m ready anytime you are…..maybe setting off a tad later for at least a glimmer of light.

Actually even by your own admission I should be 1.5 km ahead. Didn’t you happen to tell me that you ticked last week but then went for a surf with Drinky instead?!?
Was wanting to file a complaint with the integrity police but…

….and you only heard about that one. Must remind Storchy & Drinky that they’re getting behind with payments again or risk being bumped down to Column 3.
‘Assisting’ Ian with spreadsheets now on those days Lips doesn’t hear his alarm clock.
Reminds me, anyone who gives a ‘squiggle’ or initials rather than a nice, simple tick, risks a penalty too!

Oh great, look f/w to seeing you there, subject to weather, waves, winds, alarm, change of mind by Lips, finding my hairbrush for the blog-tarting… just the usual…:-)
