Happy Valentines Day Everybody!
97 lucky buggars turned up today. The sky even turned a romantic pink and purple for us and put us in the mood for lurv, or rather a swim in silky, calm waters…
Thursday mornings, since I’ve been blogging, just always seem to turn out just beautiful. I’m very lucky. This morning the sky was dreamy, dramatic and gorgeous with streaky shades of pinks, purples and blues appearing over the calm and flat ocean. Once again so worth getting out of bed at 5am for! Unfortunately I missed the very brave Bolderdashers going off at 5.50am with our inspirational little Sarah at the helm.
I did get the bold Dutch girls though Santa and Karen…
This was taken around 6.10am…
And a panorama shot 5 minutes later.
At 6.40am it’s a bit quiet and then some early swimmers start to appear…
A weird Pommy ‘lady’ is handing out frangipanis asking people to be her valentine…
“Please Robert accept this frangipani and be my Valentine…”
Bruce is saddened to hear he wasn’t the only one she asked!
Ian is missing his partner, Mr Kelly, but reminds us about meeting at The Point.
That weed isn’t going to put us off. It’s mainly on the beach now and in the shallows. Infact we had great fun in it today!
Sarah will do anything for a Valentines Day kiss!
And so will E-laine!

Stephen decides to show Lisa from Birmingham the marine life around Fairy Bower instead of going through a bit of seaweed, what wimps! (Sorry Lisa I forgot you’ve swam the English Channel!)
Away from the weed and visibility is improving and there are lots of fish to be seen. I’ve got the underwater setting sorted on my camera now but can’t seem to get shots like Stephen’s. Guess which are mine.
The sun is shining at Shelly again after a few days of grey skies and rain…Sorry to rub it in Tim, Robster and Mary who always seem to unfortunately get the gloomy blog days. (But still manage to give us funny, entertaining and witty blogs I hasten to add!)
Look who appears at Shelly…Little Sarah, Paul and Henchy Jon.
Annie Yay is still brightening up our day with that positive spirit and winning smile!
The water is clear here and I’m off chasing fish to photo for you, but my flash is off and they don’t turn out well. I did get really close to this stingray though!
Stephen’s turns out much better! The poor little fish on the left hasn’t got a valentine:-(
I do my usual , fail at underwater photos and run around to get some shots of you swimming in to Manly!
Look at this apparition appearing out of the ocean. He’s going to be a Half ironman on Sunday.
Infact would you believe both of these dudes are multiple Triathletes but they still have trouble getting their undies on! And one of Drinky and Fi Fi making hearts…
Another beautiful, awesome swim across Cabbage Tree with the most welcoming, friendly, inclusive group of swimmers…
There were a few absences after drinks at Murrays last night but a lot of regulars made it…just…
It’s clouding over now but it was so special down here earlier. Gosh, I love Manly. Safe journey back to Birmingham Lisa, can’t say I miss it! lots of lurv Lainey Loo aka E-laine xx

Today was simply the best bolderdash and Shelly swim since our latest return – stunning conditions and beautiful sunrise at Queensie. As I swam back, alternate breathing, I was watching the sunrise on the horizon and the glassy water in front of the lit-up North Styene on my right…. and then all the familiar pink caps walking down the ramp….Recommended early start:-)

Beautiful Boldercrawl this morning with LSA, Jon, Bob, and (representing the integrity police) John S. Very dark at 5:50 now. Really pushing it in terms of visibility. Beautiful conditions otherwise though. And the forecast is for more calm, glassy mornings ahead!

We have been modifying PC Km’s, Running the hypotenuse from Queenscliff to Shelly,
Partaking in swimless ticks,
Taking money for nothing AND being generally disrespectful to the integrity police,
which I might add, are great guys and we are SO lucky to have them around!!!
I know I am not popular with the dolphins.
I apologise, Please remove all the KM’s from HKTQ, Henchy Jon and myself.

I think it’s a 10k solo curly swim for The Lips in the dark through a burley trail with a luminescent fishing float and an albatross tied around your neck.and.back to 0 in the blog tart spready!

When no one’s lurking, I always take the hymptenussy route too and my soft 10k was a lot softer than they no.
