Ahhh another blissful still, tranquil, early Manly morning …. just kidding … “this one goes up to 11” –
Does anyone know which Movie that quote is from? (No Googling Stephen) … oh sorry mate.. I forgot you’re banned anyway!
Here’s some mood pics to get you started…

Yep it’s a washing machine… bring your socks and unmentionables and throw em in!
Good looking crowd this morning…

..One of Midget Farrelly’s boards… busted-as broo…

…and down to business…

Dani and Sarah have announced they are staying in Manly and not going home! Good on you two! 😉
A few of the guys have offered their spare rooms…

Today all the fun was above the waterline..

Yep and the point was working as well… Here’s Jane looking unperturbed..

and look at that style..

You get the idea 🙂
It was good to land on the beach… you could pretty much catch a wave into Shelley..

John H … going for his “Summer with Wetsuit” badge.. just 1 week to go!

Lesley taking an early shower….

Getting in was a bit of fun..

Ian having his usual luck with the birds (you can’t rush in too quick, mate .. they can tell if you’re desperate!)

Stats:
Swimmers: 97
Dashers: 4! (did they all come back?)
New friends: 7
Water temp: 23.6c
Final 10km and 6km swim of this Summer – Tomorrow
The swims are ON at this stage. A final call will be made tomorrow morning, so if you are planing to swim please come down. It looks most likely the swims will be in the harbour – so the meeting place will be Manly Cove at the end of Ashburner St – John Bond will be assessing the situation tomorrow and we’ll go from there.

Nailed it Mate! Awesome shots and razor-sharp wit.
Stephen banned for one bxtt peep too many and now all bxtts rightly banned apart from Lesbutt which just passes the censors:-))
Should be a really exciting and action-packed 10K in the morning….. see all the Super-Slowies there:-)

Hi there
If you order B&B swimmers and opt to pick up, who do you pick them up from?
Thanks

OK, I’ll try it and see if it passes the censors – it’s a BUTT.
Lesley said that for the last couple of days any messages with that unmentionable word in did not get through to the blog along with any messages of any kind from Mr Coulter! Obviously, the skinny dip pics and comments were just going too far….

Great blog Nick.
Thanks to all the bloggers, and up till yesterday didn’t realise that Ian is in the backroom most days loading all the technical info stuff on the electric computer machine thingy. An unsung hero, thanks Ian.

Were you banned from iswimtoo and all your other sites? Must have been pricey to get back here! Next time, we can do a special deal and speak to the censors:-)

Definitely. I believe the HK censors are more amenable to such practical approaches than the Singapore ones!

Normal practice is that you can pick any B&B merchandise up from Far West Childrens office between 9-5 Mon-Fri, but if you can’t get there during those times, Lesley and Jenny Knapman have volunteered to pick them up so you can collect them when you arrive in the morning. You will need to let one of us know that you want them picked up so we can oblige.

Hi Gang;
Big things happening in Perth tomorrow as the big swim to Rottnest is taking place. They’ll be starting at around 9AM our time and there are a few people to watch. AND .. a really cool way to watch them. Go to mapswim.com and up will come GoogleEarth image of Perth and Rottnest.
Tomorrow, you’ll see multicoloured numbers strung out from Cottesloe to Rottnest. These are transmitter chips worn by each swimmer or team. The white numbers are solo swimmers and if you hover your cursor over each number, the swimmer’s name should come up. If you CLICK on the number during the race, I think the swimmer’s elapsed time and distance may come up, too.
Some swimmers to watch, followed by their numbers:
Michael Christie 167, attempting his FIFTH crossing.
Robin Turner 201
Michael Teys 187
Cae Tolman 24
Rob Taylor 163
El Prendergast 97 (Alex’s sister, with Alex paddling in support)
It’ll be interesting to watch. As a matter of fact, it already is!!
If you go to the website, you can see where they are right now!
Cheers, and enjoy the show. Get behind your fellow BNB swimmers!

Hi Gang:
You can follow along tomorrow as a few of our swimmers are over in Perth attempting the 19.7km swim to Rottnest Island. If you go to mapswim.com you can follow them by their numbers during the race. They will all be wearing transmitters which will allow them to be tracked by GPS. Race starts about 9Am our time.
Michael Christie #167
Michael Teys #187
Cae Tolman #24
Robin Turner #201
Rob Taylor #163
El Prendergast (Alex’s sister, Alex is support paddling) #97
Just go to the website and you will see an aerial image of the Perth/Rottnest area, dotted with numbers of various colours. The white numbers are for solo swimmers. As you hover over a number, the person or team which is denoted by that number will appear. During the race, you can track them as they move towards Rottnest.
As the transmitters are already active, if you go to the website now you will see where they are all right now! Have fun and get behind your fellow BNB swimmers!

PLEASE NOTE – Besides the bad surf conditions forecast for tomorrow, there is heavy rain predicted for this evening or tomorrow. Safety issues arise as well as the pollution of the water in the harbour.
Consequently there is a good chance of postponing the challenge swims till the following Saturday.
I will be at the front of surf club in the morning.

Thanks James.
The site to go to is mapswim.com and the GPS devices are the iPhones of our support crew. So in my case it’s my paddler who I’m hoping will be mighty close to me at all times. The map positions you see now are those of our support crew that have their devices active already.
Michael C and I say thanks to everyone for their good wishes and we will be doing our best tomorrow.
