It’s just the best time of year for swimming. ..22-24 degree water, balmy air with the sun rising and creating beautiful colours and patterns just as we swim! 99 swimmers experienced this magic this morning!(My camera clicked on magic setting by mistake for photo above!)
A few swimmers set off for an early swim in the dark this morning. I caught some of the 6.30am ers.
The Pommies above love our swims. They bring along a newbie, Nat, and a man named Wiggle.
At 7am Ian warns the swimmers about the ‘White Groper’ seen yesterday off Shelly. (The one with big lips and a German accent.)He also advises the ladies to make sure they get the sea lice out of their cossies under the (communal) shower. (No sea lice today of course it’s Thursday 😉
It’s a bit cloudy as we set off but no stingers, gentle waves and warm water!
Ian is practising for the next Sydney Skinny Swim. Ros thinks it’s funny…
These are ‘The Magic Men’ from the first photo. Lovely Jonny, who invited 4,000 swimmers to his house for Jules’s Leaving Party, John 007 Bond and Simon Fill-in for Ian.
And some sexy snorkellers at The Point! The pink is appearing!
As we head towards Shelly the sun is trying desperately to break through those clouds. I love it when it does that! And it always does it on Thursday swims!
Now we are at Shelly. Leswee is trying to attract my attention. I’m ignoring her after the photos she posted of me yesterday. The one Robbie referred to as, ‘disturbing on many levels’, particularly. You wait Leswee, I’m biding my time for revenge…
This lot are in my ‘Good Books’, even though Stephen’s camera is broken so photos are all up to me today.
Trying to catch fish photos at the rocks, Stephen calls me over the other side of The Bower to see this Eastern Fiddler Ray. Yay!
The water is a lot clearer now so get in quick before big swells forecast for Sunday. It was aquarium swimming again by the big tall palm tree inbetween Shelly and Manly. Only a blue groper seen today though!
How lucky are we swimming in this aquatic paradise! Coming in to Manly the waves were gentle, rolling and great for practising body surfing! Sorry no photos of swimmers wave catching, just happy ones coming out.
Triad Queen looking innocent with Simon.
Who would believe this same lady was seen ‘wheeling and dealing’ earlier on. She even had Little Tiger and Laura in on it.
Our Thursday swim didn’t disappoint. The sun showed it’s face for a little while, ocean was silky, smooth and warm, loads of fish and of course there was the compassion, care and camaraderie as this last photo shows. GO B&B!!!!
I had a computer mishap today so sorry for the lateness of this blog. I’ve been working on it for hours!

Be warned. Whoever Nurse J paid to tick for her, it won’t work. Another tick today, and Nurse J still on the other side of the globe. Tick was ignored by the administration. Nurse J – you paid the wrong person.

Yeah, What Slow Ian says!!!!!!!
Be warned, DWSS and I of the integrity police are after you and closing in.
We’ll have none of these shenanigans and if we ascertain who is helping Nurse J there will be hell to pay (or the Triad Queen)!

Beautiful swimming conditions and great blog. Love the cartoons as usual!
Now I’ve recruited Little Laura’s help with “Secret Matters” and “You Know Whats”, I’ll have to have a cosy chat with Jasmine next time too.
Nurse J, I think you were doing fine until you blew your cover yesterday by announcing to Slow Ian that you were galavanting round the deserts!

Great blog LL
Always great to hear from the marine life.
I am a little perplexed as to why I have been coined “Shady Shaun”
As I am a member of the integrity police so it is obviously not a slur as to dodgyness, I am starting to think it might be a fat joke or something???
🙂

Or maybe just a stern talking too.

Well you are no longer Slow Shaun and no real evidence of being a ‘Dolphin Whisperer’. What about Dodgy Denton? My nicknames stick too. Well they did with Sparkles and Lesbutt. I quite like Shady Shaun and Rough Diamond (Storchy)!

Love the fact that I made it into your cartoon. Again!! Extra spreddy points for me. Snorkles take note.
Sorry I couldn’t join you this morning. Would have loved to come down for a bit more groping..
See you tomorrow!
