13/4/13 – Saturday Megablog!

13/04/201313

Champagne, Black Caviar and Kelly Slater is the order of the day after a week of champagne weather and conditions!

282 swimmers… totes amazeballs! (ask your teenaged kids) turned up – maybe hoping to see some more dolphins

This was the sunrise at 6:16am

The course was flat and in perfect condition..

Ladies – Beware of this man 🙂

Bruce specially requested the inclusion of this pic so he can show his new “streamlined” outfit. I think he got them cheap from Thorpie who doesn’t need them anymore..

When you stand on the rocks at the point you run into so many people ..and they run into you…

We saw this dusky who had a fishing line caught on his pectoral

Ladies, beware of this man also…. where have you been Woodie?

Pippa was really getting into it this morning … loving her work….

We had divers..

A breakaway group went into halfway, collected the champagne and swam the remainder while reciting the 12 steps to recovery.

Izzy wondered why she was feeling even more drunk…

Lots of great pics of fish today – Simon helping out with some of these… Jane, there a few little families in here you will like…

Jane’s juvenile sergeants…

Coming to you live from Bluewater Cafe – lots of action in Manly today – Everyone have a great weekend!
Stats:
Swimmers: 282!
Newbs: 13
Doubles: 16
Temp: 23.1c
Sunrise: 6:16am
Sunset: 5:35

Staying safe

NEW water safety tips courtesy of champion Ironman Craig ‘Riddo’ Riddington. It’s a great read and can help keep you safe in the surf. To read and even download click here.

Also….

If you enjoy the friendly chatter over breakfast, you may also enjoy the more animated banter (drunken) at Murrays in Manly (another BnB Sponsor), NEXT Wednesday night (17th April) from 6.30 pm, when all B&B swimmers can partake of the local beverages at happy hour prices!

Ahhh-mazing fish photos Nick! I love the catfish, old wives and leatherjacket (is it? 5th from last) particularly. I think Mark from Ozmus might be wanting some of those. Hope visibility is as good tomorrow.

Great fish pics guys – wonderful Kingfish! I saw him chasing the Yellowtail Scads, no catches though. Nick’s last pic, a Spotted Sawtail Surgeonfish (Prionurus maculatus), has been nabbed by Mark McGrouther for the ozMus Fishes website! Congrats, Nick.

Fabulous fishies today. It’s so wonderful to be swimming amongst them! I’ve only been swimming BnB this year, but these are the best conditions I’ve experienced.

I can confirm none of the fish pics were subject to Photoshop trickery. They are exactly as dowloaded from Google images.
