27/05/2013 – The blog that isn’t angry, just disappointed.

27/05/201333

83 Bold & Beautiful swimmers enjoyed the best start to the week.

Now there is nothing wrong with wearing a wetsuit. Take it from someone who wore one ALL SUMMER! Unless your name is John Kelly of course….

No caption needed:

After all the abuse I get, it’s just a little dissapointing to see the “Hardcore” go so soft. 🙁

The press had heard about this and came down to photograph JK in a wetsuit for the Local newpaper

It was a bit choppy looking going in

But not so choppy past the point

Blogger Nick raced past me shouting “Look at me Robbie, I’m going to be first to Shelly!! Weeeeee!” Its not a race Nick and you should know better.

But once we all got to Shelly, it was a LETS GO! by Krystyna and off we went.

Past the boat…

But before we got back to the beach, I had enough time for a selfie, of course! (Stephen took this on from afar!)

Please note the flash is VERY powerful and I am not really that white….I swear…

Normal service resumed. But what are those booties!!!??

But even more dissapointing than JK in a wetsuit, its Brenton in a work suit! John S noted that he should update his wardrobe as the last time this suit was in fashion was 1985!

Surely this next pic has to be the pic of the week though….swim without a wetsuit for a while and you will understand! MMMmmmmmm Warmmmmmmmm….

Keep swimming and smiling,

Robster the Blogster

    John K,
I, and many many others, look up to and admire you!
Every day attendance, there with a sympathetic and encouraging voice at the point and Shelly and a helping hand when needed.
The Quintessential Scottish Gentleman with the greatest attributes of those hardy people, tenaciousness and stoic!
What, now it’s ok for real men to wear wetsuits in 21 degree water?
    I’m confused……

Baby Jane & Helen (yet to be nick named), great swim this morning.
Good to see you back after a weekend of gen-y style debauchery. LSA and I, the older members of the 6:59 splinter group, are happy to have you Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday typically reserved the more mature B&B swimmers.
    See you tomorrow!

Oh really Bubbles? How come I’m the proud owner of a 2012 Winter Badge then?
You can’t just go and buy a winter badge unless you swim throughout winter. Well, except for those fake badges sold by LSA, but that’s off topic..

..and I will vouch for him having swum a few times with me, we once even went “all the way” as captured by Jules:-)
By early July it had got a bit cold for him, so he disappeared to warmer waters and the rest was history –

    Dear Confused,
When you join the 60s Club, you’ll come to your senses!
Of course Lesbubbles, Robster and the rest of Gen-Y have to pay penance for all that debauchery!
Of course, with an extra tyre or two and Brenton’s yak-fat lotion, some regulars may survive the whole winter!
    JUST DON’T DIET UNTIL OCTOBER!

    Great links Jane!
There was a series made a few years ago in which Robson Green (the actor) swam at various places in England – I think it was called Robson Greens Wild swimming.
Anyway, he swam across the Corryvreckan Whirlpool with Simon Murie from Swimtrek. It was very cool, so look out for the clip on YouTube!
