103 B&B
swimmers; 16.4 degrees in the water; 7 degrees out! Truly this mob is addicted to this morning
ritual.
When you
have the privilege to share the experience of a winter’s sunrise with an
amazing bunch of people – why wouldn’t you make the pilgrimage to the Shrine of
the Point to give thanks.

Today we
were bathed in the most superb golden light as soon as the sun lifted its self
over the horizon. And the noise level
seemed to rise with the sun!! Louder
than the lorikeets we were today – so pleased there are no neighbours!

A few waves
helped limber up the muscles! These two
look ready to take a mark!

Tuesday
swimmers are so good at finding the point.

Birthday boy
Keith received the speediest rendition of happy birthday led by choir master
John. Nothing to do with the cold I’m
sure. . .

It wasn’t so
bad once you had adjusted to the cooler temperature.

Even the frolickers lingered a little longer in Shelly.

And the
Tardis is back!! Don’t you wonder were
it has been? Has anyone ever spoken to
the skipper?

Rainer is
keen to show his European mates how one should enjoy winter. . .

There was a
feeding frenzy going on under water this morning. Lots of our regular favourites were out and
about.

While we may not appreciate the
weedy conditions around the point, these fish love what’s on the menu.

One needs a
good feed after a morning swim – certainly Patrick is a believer. Check out this breakfast for one!!

Tomorrow is
the anniversary of the swim with the whale (although it actually took place on
a Tuesday. . .). Come on down for a commemorative
swim – who knows what Lesley has in store. . .

Lost
and found
Found in the
men’s change room after the swim; prescription goggles, swim cap and speedo
towel (purple). If these belong to you,
Ian Forster will have them at tomorrow’s swim.
Alternatively, contact him on 0412 331 530.
Call
for extras!!
Over the
coming weekend, (27 & 28 July) one of our swimmers, Naomi Fryer, will be shooting
a documentary about the Bold & Beautiful.
Each day she will be interviewing a random selection of people on their
B&B experience. A special request is to just act naturally – much like when
the Telegraph did their photo shoot.
Should you feel a full blown blog tart moment coming over you – look for
the nearest B&B Blogger.

BUT, there’s
a wait list! And it may be that life will get in the way and a few people
are may have to cancel. So, make sure

Again, great blog Mary. You ARE talented.
Great shot of Rainer too! Isn’t it funny how he looks so close to 1/2 way in that shot.
It is a matter of perspective and focus and focus on the half way dodge!!
I’m not implying anything, I’m just saying,,,,,
Great photo!! 🙂

Great blog again Mary
Taking up your comment about the Tardis IV I think we should plot to get to the bottom of the mystery. What about we surround it, on our return journey, on the next calm day, and in unison chant to the skipper, “come on down Dr Who” or “100 capps and 84 lattes please”…or… if that doesn’t work we could, in unison, drum the hull until we get a reaction…any other suggestions???….

Bah! You’ve got nothing on me DWSS! That could be anyone in that photo!
Mary, lovely blog. Thanks for the photo plug. Interesting angle, you make it look like I’m about to get out at Halfway.. amazing optical illusion.

I think the birthday boy today was Keith, but it could have been Charl’s birthday as well.
By the way everyone, don’t miss the “whale swim” tomorrow. You remember how bad you felt last year when you didn’t come – but the whale did! Don’t say you weren’t warned Lucy.
(No guarantees of course).

It was a lovely swim this morning – great to see that sunshine day after day. Mary: I liked the photos of the fish today – very colourful – but I’m surprised that you succumbed to the no.1 blog tart photo! I think we need to put half-way-Lips onto the task of finding out more about the Tardis IV crew. After all, it’s moored at half-way.

Just an idea but this sounds like the perfect excuse for a themed Bold and Beautiful party :: Sharknado [ http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and-radio/sharknado-release-fasttracked-for-australia-after-killer-response-20130722-2qe7o.html ]

The 6.59ers love to hang around it – it’s our meeting point.
Lips and I were once invited on board when we were doing a double and looked like we needed resuscitation. Or was it a different boat, Lips?
Maybe we can try something tomorrow…..

Yes thank you for the reminder oh triad Uno!
Yes John, APPARENTLY there WAS a whale last year.
Lips, yes, some random mammal swam past and they keep going on about it!!
Have I told you about my dolphin encounters?
That’s why “they” call me the dolphin whisperer, its a good storey.

Ab FAB blog Mary…yet again…what a lovely capture of this beautiful (chilly++) morning! Can’t believe how much sea life you caught. Felt very sad seeing groper etc feeding in amongst plastic wrappers and assorted crap. Makes me think we could do a really good mornings work of collecting all the non-marine life (ie., CRAP) in the bay and pile it up on the shore and take a photo and send it with a story to the Manly Daily. Ask people to real think twice about what they do with their rubbish. I would be happy to do this…might need to wait til it’s slightly warmer — but I’m up for it either way…whaddaya think?!

You are right LSA. I remember we even got on board.
Turned out it was Hugh Jackman’s boat. He asked us to respect his privacy keep his presence in Cabbage Tree Bay confidential. He’s a great admirer of B&B and hopes to join us for the occasional 7am swim once the water gets a bit warmer again. Lovely chap.
