27/7/2013 – Let’s have a ball

27/07/201340

I hope that everyone is in the mood for a ball of a time starting this morning. With 206 keen swimmers on a glorious winters days we are off to a great start.

I came across some old pics that I thought that I would share with you all to get you in the mood for some dancing…

Anyone recognise these gorgeous ladies???? They might give us a live show at the Ball.

This one is and all time favourite of mine. I guess Elaine has been getting in a little practice before the ball..

We even had a visit from Leonardo himself who has heard so much about the comradery at B&B that we couldn’t stop him from joining us for a frolick in the seas. Judging from his t-shirt tan he needs a little more sun. We were lucky enough to get a photo.

Did anyone else see him?

Naomi and crew start the filming. What a beautiful start to the morning.

Slow start to the day for Ian. Explaining as to why he is feeling so great today.

Errol making a fashion statement.. Awesome beannie.

This is how it is done guys. Keen to get into the water Lesley?

Robbie does exist Elaine. (with John)

This pic is just gorgeous..

Elaine, Sarah & Toni ready to take the plunge.

Some water shots for those of who didn’t get around to seeing what the ocean has to offer. Awesome.

Tonights the night!

We have a great night lined up for you all – Please arrive around 6:30 and get your Gatsby on!

There are still spots coming up on the wait-list – So if you are still planning to grab a vacant spot –

Here is the table plan. If you’re really late getting your act together, don’t worry! You can swap on the night!

You can join it here

Look forward to seeing you at The Ball!

Staying safe

Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly. While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download click here.

Also the doco crew will be filming us today and Sunday – they have asked us to observe a few things…

1. Please remain natural!

2. This documentary is being filmed in an Observational style and so it is imperative that you don’t ‘act’ for camera.

3. We may be interviewing some people and will direct you then, but other than that please pretend that we aren’t there.

4. We want to capture the essence of the group and the best way to do this is for you to just carry on as usual.

5. We will only be focusing on people that have given us a release or people that we talk to on the shoot, however we will also be capturing the group as a whole.

6. If anyone is uncomfortable being part of the documentary at all, they are advised not to swim on the days we are filming.

7. Can the group try to wait closer together at the waiting point before swimming to Shelly Beach.

8. We will be set up at the point and want to capture the group waiting for each other and the Lets Go!

Stats:

Swimmers: 206

Newbies: 3

Sunrise: 6:52am

Sunset 17:12pm

Water Temp: 16.7

Swell: 3.3ft

see you all tonight with your Dancing Shoes on

Renae, you’re a real star – stepping in to help with the Blogs so very graciously and skilfully.
We’re so very, very fortunate to have you and all the other Bloggers (inc, SNORKLES!!) to share the swim’s highlights as a B&B community service.

There is a Ball Waitlist – despite LSA’s attempts to inflate prices – no off market tickets will be recognised tonight!
All trades must be through Stephen on 0403 338 888 as we are fully booked and you will not be admitted unless you’re on the official Pink list 😉
