114 Brave Swimmers turned to a glorious swim this morning. The veracious winds that came through yesterday took the temperature down by almost 2 degrees to 15.9, taking some by suprise.
For the swimmers who took the option to come out and enjoy the swim you wouldn’t have been dissapointed. Clear, smoother waters and loads of fish to be seen.
With the sun rising earlier these daysthere were loads of early morning swimmers, 26 in total.
The early Swimmers looking a a little more refreshed after their swim.
Annie & Bella ready to take on the cool seas.
The usual morning meetings. Oh, so serious
The ladies taking the cool waters. It always looks so clear when it’s cold.
Cara is finding an unusual way to entertain herself, keeping the cold at bay.
This is Lesley’s cold face. Elaine really does look cold. Brrrr.
The ultimate Blogtart.. (stephen)
Ahh, Vicki it’s not that cold is it??
Cara doing her impersonation of a stunned Frog.
Inez did a double today. We just can’t keep some people away.
Bella & Cara. Love how clear the water is today. You can see all the way to the bottom.
And now for some Fish. I went overboard today and got a little excited by all the of fish around me. Here is another reminder why we all get out of bed in the middle of winter and swim in the ocean.
Sarah Bursle just returned from a trip to Tonga where she was lucky enought to swim up close with the Southen Right Whales. There was a whole pod of them. what an amazing experience. Maybe we should organise a small group and go over on a whale swimming holiday..
Today is the 4th anniversary of the first B&B Whale
Swim where 17 swimmers swam with a 15m Southern Right – here are
some of the photos!
Stats

Is that a new semi transparent wetsuit Cara is wearing or have you been playing with special effects Renae? I’m not going to let you take any budgie shots even if I am a blog tart.

Those photos are wonderful.
I have a Nikon, which replaced many Olympus underwater cameras which all leaked. The nikon never leaks but the photos are crap. I think Stephen recommended a Canon…what camera took today’s fabulous ones? I think I will get a new camera.

Oh missing my Tuesday swim :-(. Renae, those fish photos are sublime! Looks like the TG2 club has a new doyenne.
Singapore is stormy and humid. Also can’t believe the hotel closed the pool because of rain.

Beautifully clear water this morning as seen in Renae’s underwater shots, especially with the schools of fish.
The water temperature was a little testing for non-wetsuit swimmers.

Ah, Thank you. They must have improved the seal. I have had three of them and they all let water in….I’ll check out the latest!

yes, Stephen pointed that out, and I gather the latest model is watertight…
the nikon is really sturdy and waterproof but the shots are really terrible. I’m not sure why, it always seems to have the wrong exposure underwater and a delayed image response. I’ll have to bite the bullet and get one.

Yes Fifi! The TG2 is a good little camera with loads of options. And I can attest to it being shockproof ’cause I have managed to drop mine.

Hi Jalna – that sounds exciting. I’ll start bringing a book to the swim so you can try and pick the pic.
And please, Mrs. Whale, don’t come till Thursday when I’ll be back in the water.
