It was another magic morning with a light souwester, crystal clear water and a hint of spring in the air. Even the water has warmed up to a balmy 17.1 degrees.
The bay was brimming with life, there were schools of fish aplenty not to mention the 109 bold and beautiful pink caps. I also had a great view of the Fiddler ray (see below).
Oh and someone may have picked up Michelle’s cap and goggles by mistake (silicon cap and large newish clear goggles), if so can you please bring them tomorrow morning and give them to Michelle.
I missed the sunrise at 6:20 but saw some some spectacular colours as I came over the hill, alas they had faded like my past glories by the time I reached Manly.
But there were still plenty of wonders to catch the eye
He normally swims early
but had to wait for his mate ths morning
John was all smiles as usual
It’s such a nice day, do we have to race?
You bet we do!
And Bruce doesn’t know how to swim slow but he does know how to relax
I thought we were meant to wait till after our swim for coffee? This could set a dangerous precedent!
Bathing beauties
He looks a bit like Tom Cruise!
Time to hit the water
Good Lord! What is it? Ahh, a proper photographer
The Fiddler Ray
It starts off innocently with an occasional swim
But before long they start to evolve, is it a Merman?
or a mermaid?
Where does it end?

I have a pair of goggles and cap that were found in the ladies change room (not by me I might add!). Perhaps they are Michelle’s?

Forgot to mention, if you are going to the dinner next week (see above), please book in ASAP as seats are filling fast. The event will definitely be a sell-out.

There are always lots of pictures of rays. Are they dangerous at all or are they safe to swim alongside?

Oh Snorkles, I just make it look easy.
Truth is, it was hard work. First I had to strike up an interesting conversation with Bruce.
Then I had to make sure to position us directly in front of Joe. But at the same time make it look all casual and coincidental.
Until finally Joe became aware of us and asked us for a photo. Believing it was all his own idea and we just ‘happened’ to be there.
Inception. The most sophisticated form of blog tarting..

The recommended distance for ALL our lovely the marine creatures is about 9 metres! But as you can tell by the photos, some of our photographers/swimmers do not do this!! Not mentioning any names LUTZ!! ;-p
So yeah please do not pat them!
RE: Yurtle the turtle definitely stay away! They see you as a predator… so watch and admire their beauty but not too close!

yeah Lips pushed me out the way when he saw the camera zoning in on Bruce. He knew I wouldn’t be on the blog much today because I was in disguise (different rashie). Although it’s a shame he has continued to wear the wetsuit!
