Another beautiful sunrise in Mantown with a 2ft ESE swell promising lake like conditions…
This was the mood walking down to the B&B Pavilion….
Once there it was another story – where Bollywood had finally caught up with us, and really the only question now is: What took it so long??
Famous Directors!
Famous actors!
Famous Divas!
Where’s my trailer?? Who ARE these people??
The leading man……
Robin is back! Good to see you mate!
Luckily SOME of us were taking it seriously….
The water was still a touch murky but 18.2c …. there was still a bit of action if you knew where to look….
VETERAN US swimmer Diana Nyad has
successfully completed a marathon crossing from Cuba to Florida,
becoming the first person to do so without a protective shark cage.
The 64-year-old, who left a Havana yacht club early on Saturday,
arrived on a Key West beach to realise her lifetime quest on the fifth
try, her team said in a tweet.
“Our FearlessNyad has at long
last achieved her XtremeDream and reached TheOtherShore,” the tweet
said. “An historic moment that proves DreamsDoComeTrue”
Live
television footage showed crowds swarming the beach and even wading
toward Nyad as she approached the shore. But challenges loomed large
during the historic crossing – especially on the homestretch.
Here she is in training with some group of good looking rebel swimmers from Manly, Australia….
Click here to see the youtube video of Diana just after she’s made it to Key West!
Also – your regular blogger Renae has just completed the Waikiki Roughwater Swim (just like lake Manly on a normal day!)
3.84km was too soft so Renae swam 4.22km just to really rub it in to the soft Hawaiians!
Nice outfit Renae!
Today’s Stats:
112 Swimmers
4 Newbies
18.2c Water
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Just to put Diana Nyad’s Cuba to US swim into perspective…at 64 years old she spent 53 hours in the water, travelled 110 miles or 176 kilometers. With our beloved morning swim at 1.5 kilometers Diana did our daily swim 117.3 times…all in one go!

That is not a PJ shark. it’s a blind shark! It’s been photographed so often it has suffered flash burns to the retinas!

Superb blog Nick. I give it 4.5 stars!
To get to 5 stars, we would need a close-up of that Hammerhead.
One more thing. Please use my right side for photographs going forward. My left side is under contract with Vogue until 2015.
Great to have Bollywood in town!!

Kazza it’s a flute mouth – a fish – you can see them hanging near the bottom near the pool at halfway and sometimes off the point…
