18/10/13 – WTF it’s Friday!

18/10/201317

Yes the week has gone so FAST…

It’s Friday again! and again we’re cooling down after a scorcher. The sunrise was slightly delayed …..

There were some gentle waves – some of us were looking forward to a little  bodysurf back in…

All the usual suspects for a Friday….

I call this one – “Variations of Pink”

Everyone is looking relaxed this morning…

Still waiting for this guy to stack in front of everyone 🙂

Nice clean surf…

Paige braved the waves on the way out AND on the way in –

Rainer – we found your cap – Hope you’re feeling OK today – probably watching cartoons and eating ice cream?

This is little Camryn Mellis in her B&B kit. Note the cute baby rug knitted by Peta Saunders and featured a couple of weeks ago in the blog 🙂

Have a great weekend everyone – sorry not much underwater action today or any other day this week – it’s been too soupy 🙁

WHAT??? NO BOLDERDASHERS!! What is the world coming to?
On a completely different topic: what a gorgeous little baby Camryn is and what a beautiful shot of her.

I agree Michael – Camryn is very sweet!
If anyone left a pair of grey speedo goggs with a white strap on the table next to the tree this morning, I have them and would be pleased to return them to their rightful owner. I ll be swimming both days over the weekend, and next week.
Great blog – love the wave shot!

Michael, some of us super-slowies braved the waves in and out and did a beautiful boulderdash …..er crawl….. Actually, thought of you and Lips – you’d have both loved it – rolling waves, glassy off-shore winds, being nibbled at by the mutton birds, keeping very far out to avoid being surfed in.
Special thanks to Chris (with a beard) and Bev who kindly kept me close company both ways (first boulderdash for both of them!).
Jon A and John Bryan were a little ahead of us and on a faster track…
(We were both very sorry to miss your fleeting visit. Xmas here with Jules?)
Maybe a mutton bird nibbled at the attendance sheet too!

I always thought Bolderdash to be a dash for the boulder with the heart painted on it. But if someone asks why the name “BoldandBeautiful,” how do you answer? Perhaps we should ask the founder of the group, Julie. Is the name’s origin base on the fact that men in skimpy buggies are “bold” and women/girls in bikinis are “beautiful” or does it mean the bold act of swimming to Shelley in the deep blue sea, and beautiful because of all that beautiful marine life we see when our heads are in the water? Anyway to return to the point, is “Bolderdash” used as a comparative, that is, swimming to Shelley is a “bold” thing to do but it is bolder to swim to Queenscliff, or is it just a misspell of the word “boulder”? Several swimmers to Queensie today in perfect conditions were accompanied by swarms of muttonbirds, swooping inches above their heads and landing in the water only arms length away. I think the mutton birds ate the attendance sheet reducing my enthusiasm for mutton bird conservation. 😉

Sarah, there is a folder especially for the Bolderdash, I forgot what colour it is. If you tick that, then your KM get included in the PC, and make sure you don’t tick also the Shelly folder as well, unless you really are doing both, or unless you have paid yourself the appropriate fee for being included. I suppose there has to be an adjusted price list for ticks for B’dash and ticks for double header of B’dash plus regular shelly. Sorry if I’ve just blown your “I’m innocent” cover, I know you already know which folders to tick and which person to see regarding kilometers.

Yes, we did all put our ticks in the “special folder”, but we’re suspecting the Mutton Birds of having eaten or flown off with it! Of course, could be those Boot-campers:-) Thanks to MC for pointing it out….
Not sure what the “double header of B’dash” is, however…. special points for head butts? We definitely wouldn’t be encouraging that one!

Sorry Michael, Bolderdashers got mixed up with the regular crew. All fixed now. Promise it won’t happen again.

I also have a pair of goggles that were handed in to me. I will add these to my growing collection, unless these are claimed.

  • Landlocked Lips taking a break from eating ice cream and watching cartoons..

    18/10/2013 at 4:11 pm

Interesting experience – reading the blog without actually swimming. Now I know how Snorkels must feel.
LSA – kudos for bolderdashing. Looked like a big wave day!
Bill – see you for cappuccino boot camp on the weekend. Might even have a double if conditions are good.
Nick – thanks for locating my cap. Bull shark must have thrown up..

    18/10/2013 at 6:59 pm

    Dear Crotchety,
If you were to have an occasional swim with the B&B *all the way to Shelly*, you might get to meet him…..
