22/10/2013 – Twenty Twenty

22/10/201318

There wasn’t alot of sunshine around this morning, actually there was none.  It was overcast and the swell was up.  The clouds have kept the air temperature warm and the surf warm also with both of the temps being on par at 20/20. That’s 20 degrees in and out of the water this morning.

You know it’s going to be a great swim when the surfers resemble ants as they take on the waves.  With perfect conditions it was a great morning for a swim / surf / paddle or just getting in and getting wet.

Two of our early B&B Swimmers passing each other this morning.

One the the B&B ers battling through the waves. That’s half the fun.

The perfect waves rolling through.

The 6:30 B&Bers head on out.

With the heat brings some old friends.   The dreaded Aussie fly.

With the larger waves today some opted to go from Fairy Bower and some went all the way.

Which way did you go?  How was your swim today?

Krystyna was happy to announce that she was going all the way. Whoohoo.

The men deciding which way to go.  Come on guys, you are all pro’s.

It’s always amazing riding the waves or through the waves.

Everyone has the methods about getting through the waves, be it sideways, backwards or forwards.

Is this you?

I spotted a little bit of sparkle in the water today. Just what was needed on this overcast day.

So much love to be had at Shelly. Guess who?

After a quick stop over at Shelly this morning we were off.

There wasn’t alot in the water this morning.  I managed to get a shot of a Puffa Fish and the trusty Yellow Tail.

Which way? After watching Jon, Joe & Inez start their boulderdash out through the surf, I persuaded Derek to start and finish ours at Half Way, with a gentle warm-up to Shelly first….
How was it? Challenging after the easy start! Pretty choppy on the way back. Amazingly, bumped into Jon & Inez just before N.Steyne and they warned us to conserve some energy:-)
Really enjoyed my Bluewater brekkie and getting warm again:-)
    Thanks Derek!

Spoke to Amazing Young Jane after she came in through the surf with Jon & Inez ….. they watched her try to catch a giant wave, get on top of it and then get really tumbled by it….
Jane: “Great fun, didn’t hurt at all, hope it’s like this again tomorrow!!!”
What a great attitude, Jane! Seriously Bold & Beautiful:-)))) xxxxx

Great blog pics and good job, Krystyna!
Also spoke to Brucy who’d been seen catching the Wave of the Day together all the way in. Where are the cameras and Mauricio’s video when needed?
Of course they weren’t interested in hearing about my boulderdash, much more interested in their campaign for badge and points for Waves of the Day and Romantic Doubles!
(Brucy, I’m thinking of starting my own campaign for bonus points for flipperless swims and short legs, mind you….:-))

Very interesting article about the whales and yes something does need to be done. It is their water after all.

I am very scared of big waves, thats why you didnt see me. My bravery is limited to approaching sharks gently, sorry. I will be chasing some big smiles for a good cause soon so I am sure you will see me equiped with my camera wondering around. So if you do, please smile! Silly request I know as I ve barely seen you not smiling : )

I wouldn’t have been so happy if I hadn’t grabbed my cap and goggles, both of which were torn off in the dump!

You captured what looked like a great swim beautifully again Renae. You are so brave LSA, Inez and Derek doing such an epic swim in conditions like that. I bet the sense of achievement afterwards was worth it though. See you tomorrow folks (and I’ll be smiling Mauricio!)

Um, I don’t know who is hugging in that picture as can’t really see their faces. Is it DWSS and Storchy…?
LSA – well done on your huge morning of swimming!! xx

My half-way swim was wonderful: the bay was smooth and deliciously calm. One day I’ll be brave enough to venture out from the beach and dive through those waves! Congratulations to Renae and the other wave riders today.

I saw three dusky whalers together en route to Shelly – I agree, a lot less scary than the big waves and they are less scary than blue bottles en masse….shhh…touching wood…
Look forward to seeing your camera with a big smile 🙂
