And so it begins…

June 26, 201411

Bishop here reporting for blogging duty. Was it a cracking morning? You judge…

The water though is beginning to cool down. Here is our own Nick Dawkins at the point.

Never nice getting an ice cream headache…

Now I am a happily married man to the beautiful Victoria… but I am told there are some lovely girls in the Bold and Beautiful. Here are the ambassadors of England and France to Manly, Rachel and Ginie…

Meanwhile Sterling is off hugging men???

It was a very nice swim this morning. A little bit choppy, but just beautiful as you came out from Shelly Beach and the sun emerged from behind the Bower.

Have you met Todd? He is getting quicker and quicker (2nd in today after some bald, fat vicar). Todd is married to the lovely Lily and has a little son under 1.

Do you need tiles for your new bathroom or kitchen? I really cant think of anywhere local you could go for that…

Here is Manly Wine’s latest ornament. Isn’t she lovely? Yes she is.

A little plug for my church which is holding its weekly service up at St Patrick’s Estate on Sunday July 6th. You are all welcome. I will be speaking on ‘what makes a human come fully alive?’.

Finally, there have been unconfirmed sightings of Frank Thring at Manly Wine after the swim. This was posted by the Spaniard recently… harsh but fair!

Have a great day and remember, we do life better when we do it together!

Bottom of the Blog – the very useful stuff

Week 5 of the Winter Badge season.

There are 14 weeks in the winter season.  To qualify for the prized Cold & Bold Badge you simply need to swim 20 times within the season ensuring you have swum in a minimum of 7 different weeks.  So, attempting to do it all in the first few weeks does not count!!  Make sure you use the i-Log to register your without wetsuit for the WWW badge.

B&B i-Log

The B&B i-Log is the best way to capture your swims!!  Log your swim ANYTIME of day using this really efficient and easy way to ensure your swim is recorded in the daily attendance and on the Pacific Challenge.. To get started, send an email to Ian Forster ugoboyo@gmail.com (This is not a link so please copy and paste into your email). He will check that your email address is activated on the attendance register then send you info on how to get started.

Staying safe

There may not be any waves just at the moment, but are you prepared for their return? Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly!  While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits.  Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf.  To read, or even download, click here.

Nick, that stylist you were mentioning, has done wonders for you:-))
Chilly early morning swim and pretty dark with just a crescent moon, but so worth it!

Sorry, I didn’t collect a wetsuit. I didn’t see any wetsuits there when I collected all the other stuff left behind (including a very unexciting novel!)

by the by, has anyone noticed that the BUMS log on system has broken??? I keep writing my name in the book (like I was clearly instructed to do on day one) and the “system” doesn’t update me…..
