Scrappy, Scrappy Scotty

Sorry for the late blog… you see we have moved to the Western Suburbs (Wollstonecraft) for a few months while our new place is renovated. So new found respect for all those of you who drive every morning to do our little swim. Despite Military Rd, this is still worth it!

If you havent been for a while, Manly Council have started arresting Bold and Beautiful swimmers who are still wearing wetsuits. Here is a bunch of them being ordered to ‘GET ON THE FLOOR’

Actually it was a bit cold this morning at 17.6 degrees. I may yet have to open all 37 boxes in our garage to find my wetsuit that I packed away…

Hey, last night was fun! The Baird family hosted a gala dinner at State Parliament to raise funds for Stephen’s Children, a charity that helps children who live on the trash heaps of Cairo. We were reminded of how Jesus washed his disciples dirty feet as a sign of his love for them. Mother Maggie, a coptic Christian woman in Egypt serves like this by looking after 30,000 children, providing education, sanitation and love for these forgotten kids. A good reminder of how fortunate we are too. We had a Bold and Beautiful table. Here is the Bishop and his beautiful wife with Pete Anthony chewing on bread in the background…

So to the swim. Scrappy, scrappy, scrapy Scotty!

It was the first morning with me and Scotty facing off out of wetsuits. I led for 99% of the swim only to have Scotty go past me on a wave while I was stuck on a rock. But as Bruce Baird reminded everyone… people only remember the winner. Thanks Bruce.
