This green sea turtle has been in Cabbage Tree Bay for around 1 month now is struggling after being entangled in fishing line and although freed is only using 1 front flipper. He needs to be treated for injuries. If seen please contact Rob Townsend from Sea Life Sanctuary Manly on 0404109198 and the team from SEA LIFE will come and try to rescue it. Please note where in the bay it was seen.
The water has been exceptionally murky in the last coupld of weeks, but we did get to swim with this lovely smooth ray off the Bower.. it was about the size of a double bed!

BOULDERDASH – Starts on 27th October
The Boulderdash will start officially on Monday 27th October and will run every day until the end of Summer. The start time is just before 6 am at Manly Surf Club, and the route goes from Manly to Queenscliff and back (3 km total). You should be back at the Club just in time for the 7 am Shelly swim. If you are intending to do the Boulderdash, can you please swim with the group at the correct starting time (random swims during the day do not count). The main aim of the Bold and Beautiful is to provide a fun group activity, so we request that the “regulars” please welcome any new swimmers who wish to try the Boulderdash for the first time. They will feel much more at ease if they are swimming as part of a group.

Hi folks. Just wanted to thank everyone who looked after me this morning after I was “kissed” by a bluebottle across the forehead and face. Very unpleasant. Thank you to the gentleman who stopped and, at great personal pain, peeled it off my face, to all those pink caps that popped up and inquired about my well being, to Ian for supplying the spray and the lovely lady that applied it. Also to Stephen for suggesting a long hot shower. B & B sharing and caring is alive and well. Much better now. Thanks RobertG

Another 10/10 swim….. for those of us who missed the blueys!
Hoping all those bluey-kissed folk have recovered by now. Thx for sharing your experience of all the caring B & Bs, Richard.
Love the blog as always, Nick!

Glad you’re alright Robert. Looked painful. Nice to know you’re not alone in a situation like that.

Agree. Whatever you do Robert, do not have a long hot shower with Stephen.
It’s a trick! It will do nothing for your bluebottle sting. And you’ll feel worse afterwards.
