Social News
One: Tuesday Bluewater Badges
Johnny Plum got his 500.
Dorset Received the Mighty 1000/64 Badge and plenty of applause … including wolf whistles. His ‘Family Tree Shield Collection’ however, reflected the noise too much. I found it nigh on impossible to carry on a conversation for the din.
And this morning @ 6.42 a.m, Rhonda collected her badge too …. congratulations to all 🙂

Two: Manly Surf Club Season Opener @ Steyne
Bolds reps were Brad the dad; surf patrol members Kerry and Guy, and Peta. (And me.)
Which Guy? You know – that guy Guy; the one who hangs out with that other guy – Marco. At 5.51 a.m today, Guy resets his aquatic watch – which automatically sends out a GPS ping
We won a few raffle prizes! This one (goggles) is up for grabs again. Simply answer this question correctly – and accurately.
Question:
Clint Eastwood’s first appearance in a movie was a tiny walk-on spot in an aquatic film. What is the exact title of this movie?

State of play for magazines
I have been doing a cartoon for Aussie scuba mag Sportdiving since 1990. It folded two months ago (as is the way for heaps of mags, plus lesser newsagencies around the country).
(However, Manly’s legendary Humphrey’s Newsagency continues to power on!)

New Two: Tamsin. She and hubby moved from Capetown to Queenscliff a month ago. She saw the Pink Caps swimming north (Jimble dodging) and said to him: “I want to try that.”

Race News
While newly-minted medalist and 100-metre Olympic champ Kyle Chalmers utterly stuns the world, the once invincible A-Team has been smashed down and convincingly trounced. Yesterday, by a 29-year-old American out of the Baird camp. Zounds!

We’re gonna have a good time, we’re gonna have a party

Great blog Roge, I need my daily fix of B&B while we are away. 👍🏻
Very sad about Midget, he was a top bloke, could ride a wave on anything (including Surfboats)

I admire Shane Gould and Forbes Carlisle a lot. Her wins over a range of distances is very special. Thanks for noting Forbes carlisle’s passing, Roger. Also love to shop at Humphreys.

Another brilliant blog, thanks Roger. Sad to see the passing of true legends. I noticed the surf club has its own flag flying at half mast. I wonder/hope/assume that’s for one or both of those legends. Thanks also for sharing re Rob’s dive – looks incredible.
