6/9/16 “Joy” at Magical Manly

06/09/20165

Joy on everyone’s face, is what I saw today. The sun was shining, the water was 1 degree warmer and everyone was smiling as the magic of Manly washed over us all.

This is Edwina enjoying her swim and taking photo’s of fish.

This is Annie’s beautiful smile, just back from her lovely 6.30am swim.

This is Ian, Gayle and friends enjoying the wonderful morning and view from the Surf Club.

This is Sydney, enjoying a chat at halfway beach. Syd’s an Aussie now!

This is a Port Jackson that Edwina pointed out to me. He was wagging his tail at us, to say hi.

Beautiful calm morning as we enter the water at 7am.

On our way back at about 7.30am.

This is Fiona with me. She had a lovely smile to start the swim.

We did the executive hour “afternoon” shift…. A little late but still great to be in the water. Fiona sends a big “hello” to her sister in New York.

Such a great start to the day, hope the rest of your day is Awesome.

Jenny :))

Staying safe – a timely reminder!
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

B&B monthly dinner: Tuesday 13th September
6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant
Guest speaker is Jude Furniss (Founder of Bommie Australia and President of Surfrider Foundation Manly)

BA

Jude will present the film “My Saltwater Sanctuary” including footage from Cabbage Tree Bay, which was declared an Aquatic Reserve in 2002. We all witness daily the stunning success story of how protection over the last ten years has replenished the marine populations here.
NSW currently only has 7 % of its coastline protected in twenty marine sanctuaries, so Surfrider Foundation has joined the Nature Conservation Council in the charge to lobby government to restore the ten sanctuary zones still unprotected, and increase the percentage of marine park areas in NSW by establishing a Sydney Marine Park.
Made by producers Bluebottle Films, it’s a beautiful film about locals living alongside marine reserves … and the difference every one of us can make in the protection of them.

Feeling inspired to start swimming when we’re back from Europe at the end of the month. 45 degrees here in Southern Spain, Manly water looks soooo inviting!!
