Happy Saturday- 7th January 2017

January 7, 201710

Happy Saturday

What another beautiful day in Manly in this little corner of the globe. Water was calm, warm and filled with the best looking Swim Squad I know.

Shaun Denton aka “Stand in CEO” (self named of course)- Telling the Squad to meet at the point for a group pic (great way to encourage people to wait at the point before they take off to Shelly Beach).

Here is our “Stand in CEO” again doing a great job. Thanks for all your hard work Champ. It is actually harder than you think to make everyone wait at the point then with a thunderous roar proclaim “Let’s go” then to do housekeeping at Shelly etc etc. I know because Shaun asked me to do this yesterday and in all honesty I felt like I needed a megaphone and a umpire whistle to command all ears and eyes on me. All in all I was hopeless at it. But Shaun you Legend you were born to be “Stand in CEO”!

7am Squad up beat and ready to swim the 1.5kms

The Squad on their way to The Point

A Great Pic of The Squad at The Point. There were roughly about 300 Strong today. It actually gave me goose bumps looking at you all and I could here the banter and laughing from where I was. There were also about 15 other tourists around me gasping and overwhelmed by you all. They either thought you were crazy or super human.

Humans of the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad

I always ask members of our squad:

1) Why did you start swimming with the Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad?

2) How does it make you feel?

Introducing Matt

“My sister was up from Tasmania and enticed me to come down and do the swim with her. I have been swimming for two and a bit years now. I love it! It makes me feel GREAT!”

Introducing Linda and her son Kai

” Why not swim with the Bold and Beautiful. What a way to start the day! I love it, I have become addicted. I wasn’t at first but I am now.”

The gorgeous Lainey doing some great fundraising!

CAKE STALL to raise funds for Women’s Hospital in Nepal
After talking to Dr Ray Hodgson who swims with us and operates A4WH which helps women in Nepal who have experienced prolapse, Roz and I thought it would be lovely to hold a cake stall and try and raise funds for the hospital they are trying to build in remote Nepal. It will be this Saturday 7th Jan after the swim between 7.30 and 9.30am. Please bake a cake, slice, frittata or bring along something we can sell! Also all swimmers please bring along some dollars to support this amazing cause. Thank you so much in advance. Just a short Blog from me today because I want to spend this luscious Saturday with my favourite people. MY squad.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Lost

Our wonderful blogger Elizabeth lost her red Olympus camera during the swim yesterday. It would be wonderful if you could keep an eye out for it on your swim. Fingers crossed it will turn up.
