Friday 30 June 2017 EOFY and WWW

30/06/20177

Happy Friday. Happy end of financial year.

WWW – possibly the most recognised acronym in the world – yes winter without a wetsuit or winter with a wetsuit ! I have also heard other versions of what the acronym stands for too but these are the main ones. And here are some swimmers who agree with me:

Early ones

The temp is dropping but still ok.

There was celebration in the air today

– Ian is back

Greg Marinan swam alongside Sue and suddenly today he marked 1000km!

Thanks for the photo Lisa Boyle. It is a classic

Well done Greg

As well as the celebration of a Friday swim

Ross brought Josh today. Good idea to swim Josh – see you again soon. I had my first swim on 30 June 2012 so today I celebrate 5 years with BB.

Steve provided an action shot – too busy getting ready for a swim to pose!

Here is Sue celebrating Greg’s 1000km

The A team celebrating that 2 of them are here to swim today

Wendy celebrating 5 years swimming too

Alex Gooch is swimming and here is a spectator looking out

Hugh joins BB from New York!!!

Nick Martin swam early – so Patricia must be swimming at 7

Just before the Let’s Go at the Point (must be the Point because John Kelly is there)

Before the completion of 1000km

Sam planning a double in January

What I have been reading – Peter Corris mystery set in Bondi with Cliff hardy as the main character and just starting a Peter May China series.

B&B Monthly Dinner at Bluewater Cafe

The next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 11th July at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker on the night will be B&B swimmer, Chief Superintendent Kenneth Murphy (aka Smurf), who was recently awarded an Australian Fire Service Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Ken will give a talk titled “Business as Usual” about the dangers faced by fireman, and highlighted by fire at the Forbes Vast Solar Plant, involving 120,000 litres of liquid sodium.

The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential:  To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.
