The smell of the salt hit us, as we hopped out of the car.
A tell tale sign that calm waters had not returned to our corner.
The summer days have been full of picture perfect skies, heat
cloying and cicadas buzzing their white noise.
The slow down is in full swing.
The only energy really has been in the waves, rips and churn at the point.
And today was no exception.
Roz and I stopped at the Point to watch the brave souls swimming
into, under and over waves that at times defied, logic, sequence or pattern.
Many of us chose to wander to Shelly, admiring the skill and courage of those that swam through
and around into the Bay.
We also admire those that chose to swim from Shelly, swimming for enjoyment is what the B&B is all about.
Water Temp: the board said 19 felt like 17
Numbers: Heaps
Interim management doing a terrific job.
6.00am swimmers gather
The Surf Boats leaving from Shell
The 7.00am at Shelly
And today I made a wish come true – Megan on the left has always wanted
her photo in the blog and so here she is with beautiful Sophie !!!
Thanks for the walk and swim BK and Roz….
Happy New Year, and have a great Saturday, Barb x

I found someone’s beloved drink bottle in the women’s change-room yesterday. If it is yours then please make yourself known to management who know who I am and they can point me out. I swim most days and will bring it with me again tomorrow.

Slow swimming, fast blogging. Kudos Barb! So far summer swimming gets a giant raspberry from me.

Yes. From whom is management procuring these conditions? A change of supplier or has the specification gone awry. Each day is hard in a different way but welcome back Alan. That’s why badge swimming should allow year round attempts. It’s individual anyway and there is no B.B. water safety for attempts. What big swell today!
