Todays blog is brought to you by the colour green…. normally blue and green should never be seen, however today they were – the sky was blue, the water was green…..
some were green with envy at the water temperature of – wait for it – 23.4 degrees and couldnt wait to get in! However, sometimes haste is not good – they were not so green with envy to hear reports of so much green around…. and not the “good green” hiding sea lice, stingy jellies (clearly not the same jellies as I put in my Rocky Rd), leaves & other tree debris that were once green & just plain green murk. So today, greener was not necessarily better… but it didn’t deter brave souls who didn’t mind exiting in the water with a green tinge….
Roger & Matt – Roger plans to swim the Forster 3.8km on Sunday. Hopefully the water will be more blue than green. Good luck Roger! Perhaps Matt would have preferred to be sailing on the water today rather than swimming in it…
Geoff & Graeme reported that the water was better than yesterday, some debris near Shelly, not as smelly – thankfully they were wearing wetsuits to avoid stingy things… a silver lining!
Mia described her swim as hard, and dark – dark green perhaps?
Danny & Steve swam north (as did Drinks express) to greener pastures (and not so greener water)…. described as clear and warm & some great waves!
6:30 am swim crew heading north …. hoping for blue rather than green water!
Jen also swam north – unfortunately into swarms of sea lice & unfriendly jellies 🙁
Sally listened to all the reports, evaluated the pro’s and con’s (kudos to Sally for her ability to process all that information very quickly!), and decided to swim anyway. Like others before her, she reported sea lice and jellies….
Mel (who moonlights as an awesome can-too swim coach!) and Zena getting psyched up after hearing stories of – well – greener – water…
Anita was the victim of a particularly pretty but nasty jelly fish …. but still smiling!
Ian swam to Shelly – thinking it might be greener in a good way – it wasnt – however he saw a Dusky at the point so there was a silver (or should that be shimmery green?) lining!
Chance the labrador was elated to see his human again – thankful that she made it through all that green!
Sir Basil and his buddies – not so concerned about green – more concerned with ear rubs and pats!
in the distance, a yacht heads north….. to not-so-greener waters?
and finally – do you want to make your friends green with envy? well you can when you add to your badge collection!
have a great day!
