Does anyone know why the sky was red?

The Trooper said it’s 6:30.

That early morning sky was amazing. The show was all over by about 6!
A great sign off pic with your Dad, David and Peta, Simon!

Lovely Blog Simon. Great photo of your Dad and daughter.
At sunrise, the sun is further away and the light has to travel through the thickest part of the atmosphere. When there is a lot of particulate matter (eg dust) or water molecules, the blue, shorter wavelength light is broken up and scattered, leaving only red, longer wavelength light. You see a red sky. Red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning. The dust or water in the atmosphere may suggest rain or a storm is coming.
