Yesterday felt like Friday, today well it took a while to get going. Loop of the bay, viz good close in, shocking between boulders and point, and super clear north. Waves are coming but not today. A 4 metre swell building from Saturday. Snoopy is inconsolable. We come ashore on a shore break, Kath vying to get in the top 100 bodysurfers ranking, admirable entrance in front of the FFF, we literally roll up to their feet. Hasko thats worth points. Rumours of octopus tattoos and recovery make my day, banter from Tony and James (welcome) and a star jump for a sad 3 month farewell. Bring on the weekend 🌊.
Baby’s Spices FFF low down
The ocean put on a beautiful show this morning, with glassy, flat-calm conditions making for a perfect swim. No chop, no swell, and plenty of happy swimmers enjoying the peaceful conditions 💙
But a calm ocean doesn’t mean a quiet Friday! FFF was still very much on, with the crew getting stuck into their swim sprints and soft sand runs💪
There was also a welcome return to the intellectual department, with Taipan back on deck and ready to deliver another round of Taipan’s Trivia. No doubt several questionable facts added to the collective knowledge bank 🧠
Spielberg also took us on a cinematic detour, discussing the Italian Neorealist genre and the classic film The Bicycle Thieves 🎬 in a turn of events, Sarge actually has seen the film 🧐 some people can really surprise you
And not to be outdone in the knowledge-sharing stakes, Chief Vet imparted some important veterinary wisdom, explaining that keeping chickens warm and putting them in a macintosh raincoat does not protect them from bird flu 🤒
