Bring me your Cup

17/07/20260

Life’s a journey. We spend so much time dreaming about our destination, instead of looking out the window here and now. And you start realising that flow comes when you are present, where there is no past and its regrets, no future and its pangs of running late. Add a dash of swell, a swig of comradery, rainclouds lifting, and for 35 minutes the world stops turning. And when you’re empty I’ll fill you up. We’ll drink it down till the sun comes up.

Caroline’s Drinks Express report

Dx gathered beneath dark winter skies 🌑 is it still nighttime? By the time we reached Shelly though, the sun was starting to peak through the clouds on the horizon

The visibility was decent. A little milky through the bay, but clear enough to see the bottom. Shelly however was clear.

And then… the moment of the morning 🐢 The largest turtle ever casually surfacing for a breath right in the middle of the race to the beach, popping up between swimmers. A welcomed interruption to proceedings before it was back to business and the sprint resumed 🏊‍♀️

Thumbs up from Snoopy this morning 👍The official reading came in at 17.5°C 🌡️

Kara’s birthday today!!! 🥳 Which naturally meant Gary’s blondie slice, chocolate covered cupcakes… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Rusty’s Pitch Report

The Drinks Express head south east, we just turn into the waves (2-3 foot, bigger north), north by north east. The captain the FFF Blocky joins us, Thommo off his board also in the waves, Snoopy laid up with the man flu is back his hollers still ringing across the corner, and Bretts crew in force (Brett, Simon, Ali, Trish, Kath, David, and Mel). 17.5 in the water, almost tropical, turning towards Summer. Winter rocks in our corner. Snoopy and I both count to 7, a lucky number of waves, and we plow in and out cranking out a vertical Stinger Special. I holler for one last time at John as he greets and a big wave rips me beachside.

And if once celebration wasn’t enough for a Friday – A huge congratulations to Duncan, who clocked up an incredible 3000km today! 🏅 What a milestone. What an effort. And, as all great swimming achievements should be… it was celebrated with more cake.

Love from cobloggers, Remember don’t let your true love run cold!
