Another stunner

18/06/20260

Good morning! I have stolen this photo from Lainey’s post from today on on the Bold and Beautiful Swimmers Facebook page. The sunrise was just glorious.

This is what I saw from my front door in Dee Why at around 6am. We get a small ocean glimpse through the unit blocks and trees.

This was the end of the ramp at around 8am

I didn’t have my snorkel and fins with me today so getting any decent shots of marine life was a challenge. I soon gave up, preferring to just enjoy being in the water. Conditions are quite fabulous. The water temperature is invigoratingly fresh and the visibility is very good. Lots going on at this time of the year and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Port Jackson Sharks.

This was the best I could manage today. Groper did not want to engage.

so this is from earlier this week. I do love the Giant Cuttlefish breeding season.

Instead here are some shots from my recent dive trip to the magical Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. I highly recommend this trip even if you are not a diver.

Schooling Hammerhead Sharks. This is not my photo. I was busy hanging onto a rock with both hands due to a strong current. An absolute highlight. The dive guides said the last time they saw this was September so we were extremely lucky.

The fabled Blue Footed Booby, yes they are real

Another local legend, the Galapagos Tortoise. Could do with a little moisturiser

And finally, a sea lion sleeping in a bus shelter. I could hear him snoring.

Good luck to everyone doing the organised swims this Sunday.

Last week I posted a cover of a song by an artist I like. Here is another cover. I really love this. Language warning: If the F word offends you you may not want to watch/listen.
