Pretty autumn conditions

23/05/20260

Today’s swim had a few options offered up and still provided beautiful conditions for an autumn morning.
Temperature is 19.9 with an air temp of 15 initially. A very low tide, with a very wide rip and some big sets of waves coming down on a shallow sandbank- meant we were advised to enter and exit very wide, wider than normal, or head to Shelly. I met two newbies who have been swimming in the eastern suburbs and came over for a look .
I followed anne and Petra around to Shelly and had a delightful swim with multiple schools of fish, a cuttlefish not looking so healthy, my first port Jackson shark for the season, and a few bumpy waves to swim through. Dave also swam from Shelly.
Visibility is good and the bay feels like a bath. I found some cute dogs afterwards and an almost empty club area – crowds have vanished.
winter swims coming up , start early to get your count towards the badge.
