Good morning (just), lovely readers. Gentlemen’s hours once again. Semi retirement is very enjoyable.
From the shore conditions looked pretty nice (they actually were)

Very interesting updates from the earlier swimmers including a sighting of a baby Port Jackson Shark on the surface in the Bay. An embryo lottery winner, hopefully will survive infancy to live a lovely PJ life. I’ve only seen a baby PJ twice, they are very beautiful. SAdly I did not todat so you’ll have to take my word for it.
A shallow walk almost to the Point with a few sets coming in made for an interesting start but once in the Bay the conditions were pretty clear and I wondered what I was going to see.As the swell had some East in it, things were a bit cloudy at the point and almost as far as the shed but very clear after that.
This blue Groper feeding close to the left hand side (LHS) wall illuminated very nicely.

I started swimming across in the hope of spotting aforementioned Baby Shark (doo doo doo doo doo sorrynotsorry), but Basil.

I imagined her/him/them letting out a resigned sigh at the late pap, but very kindly obliged. I love that this turtle is so relaxed around humans but worry about the added vulnerability.
The sea grass is looking very verdant, proof that a regularly mown lawn is a healthy lawn. Keep up the good work Basil and Manuel (someone has given this name to the new turtly whom I did not see today.
I was reduced to parking in the Council car park today so had to hurry back. I saw a fellow snorkeler and told him about Basil and he reciprocated by telling me about a Giant Cuttlefish along the LHS, also nicely illuminated..

At risk of having to pay an obscene amount for overstaying my car park visit byt 2 minutes I had to stop for this lovely Eagel Ray. I thought I’d kept enough distance so as not to disturb, but clearly miscalculated. I apologised profusely but suspect this was not accepted.

Here is a word from Management. This is happening tomorrow. Exclusive members’ morning from 7:30 to 09:00 please open the link for more information.

On the way to Manly I heard this rather fab piece of music. Alte kukkes will remember Ryland Peter Cooder, this is from a relatively recent albut called I, Flathead. Maybe you will like it.
