Friday 23 January 2026 Dealing with Disrupters

23/01/20260

We have seen disrupters like uber change the taxi industry. The recent sad events have disrupted our routine but we have adapted. Humans overfish and pour endless plastics and rubbish into the sea and then want more. Be like these swimmers and adapt to disruptions.

Early swimmers at the Harbour – a beautiful sight. Orderly laps in the enclosed area

Familiar grouping in different location

Scott and Joe saw the rubbish removed by earlier swimmers and were grateful. Swimmers still leaving the water better than when they went in (but there is more rubbish in the harbour pool)

FFF adapted and had their speech in the middle of the long side of the harbour pool then ran to the end, dived in and then, in a flurry of strokes swam across the lap swimmers midway. Looked extreme but it worked out. Paul’s joke about the blind life guards on the other hand….

Some swimmers went to South Steyne in once the beach was opened. They said it was nice. I saw others in the waves and one person swimming way out. Each person is responsible for their own water safety and should decide for themselves according to their own abilities.

And of course the media was there wanting to know this and that. A swimmer was available to tell them
