Empty as a ghost town at dusk

22/01/20260

Driving down the Steyne was strange, all the way from Queenscliff to South Steyne there was not a single human in the water, with the exception of a vigilant lifeguard on his jetski. Many thanks for looking out for all of us. The pull of the ocean was strong but the beach is closed and the B&B swim is not running from the ocean side. Are the local fish wondering where we all are? Who knows?

We have a new swim called HARBOURSIDE for swims at Manly Cove. Type your metres in the box provided. It’s at the bottom of the swims options on the B&B swim website.

The wall and benches empty of B&B swimmers. Michele and Leesha provided a splash of colour and glamour. Michele said she’d most likley be swimming at the nets later on.

From the wharf the netted area looked quite nice with a reasonably high tide

Here is Anne E post swim. Shower advised after this swim.

3 mermaids about to head in, Michele, Daphne and Lainey

There is a depressing amount of rubbish in the netted area, here is some of it. It has found a new home in a bin.

And a promotion for the Garmin Fenix 5, this is how it reports my swim. While I wish I could swim through air, I cannot.

I did a couple of patrols at Dee Why last weekend. The weather was horrendous but on the upside we had to stay in the club house due to wind, torrential rain and high tides. This support ski driver was having an excellent time however, here he is approaching the shore.

I’ve just read an article that was posted on the oceanswims.com Facebook page. Very interesting perspective from a long time ocean swimmer.
