Saltwater Joy: Bobbers, Dunkers, Frolickers, Teabaggers

23/09/20250

Some days I’m a swimmer, cutting through the water with purpose. But other days — like today — I’m a bobber, a dunker, a frolicker, a teabagger.

The air is a crisp 9 degrees, but the water? A welcoming 18.5°C — just the right temperature to float, dive, and splash without hesitation

The ocean has a way of welcoming you however you arrive. When the legs are sore from a big walk, or the body just says “not today” to the full swim, there’s still joy in letting the waves do the work — lifting you, dunking you, cradling you like a buoyant friend. No training plan, no pressure — just salty medicine.

Photographing the bobbers and teabaggers is a challenge — all you really see are tiny heads popping out of the water, bobbing like little corks in the waves.

Today there are only a handful of us, less than ten, including myself. I watch them as they float and teabag quietly, staring into the ocean, looking around, each lost in their own thoughts. There’s a peacefulness to it, a personal moment with the water, the sun, and the waves — small, simple, and completely their own.

Whether you’re powering through the waves, snorkeling in the bay, or just having a gentle swim with friends, there’s something bold in simply showing up to the ocean as you are.

The swimmers, the dunkers, the frolickers, the teabaggers — we all share the same saltwater joy. And that’s the real magic of the beach: it doesn’t ask how far you’ve gone, only whether you’ve stepped in.

Have a wonderful bold & beautiful day all xox
