One of the nicest swims so far. Water was clear, wasn’t too cold and it was as flat as. We even saw the little Port Jackson. So nice I could have swam it twice!
Only 3 swims to go. – wooo hoooo

Wasn’t that a beautiful Swim? It really doesn’t get much better than that. A typical superb winter’s day!! Cloudless, Sunny and warm without any wind and great visibility with a surface as flat as a billiard table. To top it all off, lots of like minded people to swim with, which all goes to making it a GREAT way to start the day. As you can see from Julie’s blog there were 69 people swam today, which is certainly a record for winter and I suspect also for the Bold and Beautiful altogether. Wouldn’t it be great if we could really set a record to be proud of before the end of winter; say 100 for tomorrow? I’m sure we could do it, it just needs everybody to get out of bed on time and make it down to the swim on time. HOW ABOUT IT EVERYONE?? Let’s give it a go. If you read this, which probably not many of you do, pass it on to your friends and see if we can really get the numbers.
The other thing worth noticing is that 82 people have got their winter badge and it looks like the number will hit about 90 over the next three days that are left of winter. This is an amazing achievement, particularly in view of the fact that the number of swims compared to last year [13] has risen to 20. So don’t be worried about those surf predictions. It is actually forecast to fall overnight and be even better tomorrow, but as could be seen today the southerly swell just does not affect Manly at all.
The water temperature may also rise as there is a tongue of warm water opposite Sydney which has come down in the EAC and reaches as high as 20c. In fact the offshore bouy has risen to over 18c. So maybe even the cold water is a thing of the past. No promises though.
See you all tomorrow for a big one.

I saw the Port Jackson sharks, 2 of them, the myth has been broken. It was like an aquarium out there today, just beautiful. A swim not to be missed. Love it.
