54 Bold & Beautiful Swimmers. Great turnout for a great morning but oh my gosh it certainly qualified as a hot shower morning this morning. There were still ~8 non wetsuit swimmers – not bad at all, that’s about 15% 🙂 . Gareth, John M, Lori and Rosie all qualified for their badge this morning taking our new total to 81 with 4 days still to go (Tim…). David’s parting words after the swim this morning were “see you in spring!” sounds good hey 🙂 Water Temperature 15.5 degrees – check out the photo – Michael taking the temp this morning. Sunrise 6.20am. Sunset 5.33pm. High Tide: 9.38am. Low Tide: 3.33pm.

A bit cold, a bit choppy too. I just Poseidon to be kind to me and provide me with flat calm seas for the next for days.

Poseidon might be on holidays I suspect Tim or even in a cranky mood. There has been a large swell coming in from the Antarctic for the last four days which will reach Sydney tomorrow in the morning so that the swell will go from two inches to ten feet by lunchtime. All is not lost however as it is very Southerly and probably won’t have any effect on the surf at Manly. Check out MagicSeaweed.com.au to see the mechanics of it. On the positive side there is a tongue of hot water coming down from the Coral Sea which has lifted the offshore temperature bouy from 16 to 18c. Check it out on MHL.com.au . The only problem here is that the bouy is about 7km off the coast, so it will probably be pretty chilly still onshore.
