27/11/2011 – Exfoliating Swim

November 27, 20116

77 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

5 swimmers headed off early; Gaetan and James swum up to Queensie and back and Collie, Ben and Brendan up to Freshie, where they picked up a new guy Peter Collins before they swam back in time to join the rest of us at 7.   Ben, however, took on another Freshie lap all by himself !! 🙂  and three swimmers, Collie Kinsela, Michael Christie and Sam Evans went back for a double exfoliation.

The conditions today were fantastic compared to yesterday, however all the seaweed and debris thrown around from yesterday’s maelstrom made for a bit of a murky and exfoliating journey.

There were dolphins playing just off the point waiting for us to join them, although once we got there they didn’t seem to want to get up close and personal.  They knew we couldn’t have seen them underwater today anyway,
so they’re saving that for tomorrow…

Check out Vicki Harbutt below looking very proud of herself for having swam back in through the waves… 😉

James Goins kindly sent through a couple of lovely photos from their early lap.

Heidi James also sent us through a great photo below of Ragnill Stallvik about to swim some laps in the pool at Ivy’s yesterday
with all of Sydney’s beautiful people.

Tim’s fact of the day: “An Electric eel is known to produce electricity sufficient enough to light up 10 electric bulbs.”

Water Temperature 19.4 degrees.
Air Temperature 18.5 degrees.
Sunrise 5.38am.
Sunset 7.47pm.
High Tide: 10.23am.
Low Tide: 5.06pm

Excuse me, what waves did VH swim through? I must have missed them whilst doing my second lap?

Who cares about debris, seaweeds, blue bottles, sharks, oil spills, dead seagulls… the SUN WAS BACK TODAY!!!!
My poor eyes suffered a lot on the way to QC, not used to that yellow ball in the sky anymore, so annoying hey :-))
Water is so murky that James did not even noticed the dolphin just 2 meters to his right… and when I looked to my right I thought James had grown a fin! We could hear them very clearly but could not see a single one under water.
Looks like conditions tomorrow morning will be similar to this morning (with less debris) so Queenscliff should be very nice (not sure about the Easterlies predicted for tonight and tomorrow though :-)).

Both seabreeze and MSW are predicting Northerly winds for the morning with a bit of noreaster for four hours overnight. So shouldn’t be a worry I hope.
The swell will have turned south and be about 30% lower than today with full SUNSHINE.
So it really should be quite a good morning.
