22/10/2011 – Manly’s Marine Delights

October 22, 20116

97 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

2 people did an early lap to Shelly and back and 8 people made the most of the beautiful conditions and clear water by enjoying a bonus double lap after our regular 7am swim.

It was absolutely gorgeous water, in total contrast to yesterday’s swim.  The ocean was flat, calm and beautifully clear.

Just as we arrived at swimming two whales cruised past, maybe tomorrow they will call in for a visit ??

Neil Cowin and Madlen Altstaedt found a beautiful big Wobbegong just off Shelly beach, see the photos below and check out his beautiful eyes.  They also saw one of our lovely Port Jackson sharks on the way back.

Michael Christie saw a beautiful brown sting ray and our dolphins cruised past as we were enjoying our apres swim coffee.  Can someone please reset their clocks for them !!

This morning’s great photos are courtesy of Robin Turner and the last three are from yesterday, courtesy of Timberlie Ettle: Ian Forster, walking out of yesterday’s washing machine.  Charlie Camphin impersonating ‘our saviour’ arriving donned in a wetsuit, and Bruce Baird enjoying a little help from the ladies…

Tim’s fact of the day: “Crabs have no bones.  Their shell is their skin and their bones.”

In case you happen to be the one person in Manly that hasn’t heard yet… It is Izzy’s birthday tomorrow and she would like to start her celebrations in pink with over 100 of her B&B friends for a swim tomorrow morning.  So how about it – 100+ swimmers tomorrow ???
