18/07/2011 – Photo Extravaganza

July 18, 201124

40 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Beautiful flat conditions this morning, with a colorful sunrise.

So many specacular photos courtesy of James Goins this morning, in fact sooo many we had to run 8 of them as I couldnt possibly cull them, it was just too hard to choose and was further complicated by the fact that I paddled a board over and borrowed James’s camera on the way back to try to get a slightly different view of our swims, so of course a couple of those had to feature too 😉

Check out the amazing sunrise shots, in fact I think they are two of the nicest sunrise shots ever ! Followed by one of Christy McLean and Nicolee Goins at the start of our swim, along with a silhouette of Iain’s beautiful curly locks, then the stunning pink rocks 🙂

On the way back to manly there is a great pink head and pink bottom photo of Michael Christie, Stephen Coulter and Chris Cameron-Doe in the foreground with many other pink caps dotted around in the background, followed by a couple of group shots.

It’s the start of a new week today so there should be a few new badge qualifies today… certainly Bruce Paterson and Nicolee Goins knew it was their badge qualifying swim today 🙂

3 swimmers also completed a bonus early lap. I’m sure there will be a couple of takers if anyone wants to do an extra lap at 6.20am tomorrow as it’s only 12 days until the 8km Magnetic Island swim.

The majority of the currently active swimmers have their photo up on the wall of fame which means we don’t have too many pink dolphins on our daily attendance records these days which is great, however, there are still a couple so if you don’t yet have your photo up please see Michael after any swim and he will take a great photo for you, thank you.

Happy birthday to Christy McLean today 🙂

Water Temperature 18.2 degrees.
Air Temperature 11 degrees.
Sunrise 6.57am.
Sunset 5.06pm.

High Tide: 10.21am.
Low Tide: 4.00pm.

I know you all miss me terribly so despite a bad dose of MAN FLU and bronchitis i will be back in the water soon.
I need to get fit so please feel free to ridicule me or hassle me if i dont run/swim/etc when asked to do so.

Ok I’m up for another early swim tomorrow at 6.20am. Its tipped to be sunny, so should be reasonably light for a change. Any other takers???

Yes Timberlie Tough Man, you need to get back in the water and of course we miss you oh and Linda 🙂
It will make you get better faster you know, as no self respecting bug will stay inside someone who submerges themselves in refreshing water for half an hour plus each morning…. !
Excuse me, South Curly AND BACK !!!!
Can’t walk today and was up most of the night, but hey I’m sure it was worth it as Claire prompted me half way back: “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”. That was the only thing that got me up that bitch of a hill on the way back I can tell you 😉

    Goggle fitting guide from Zoggs….
Hi. I’m the UK Marketing Manager for Zoggs in the UK.
This is our simple 3 point guide
    1. SEAL – To test the fit you should firstly apply the goggle to the face without the strap in place and test the seal the goggle provides. It is a myth that tightening the strap will ensure your goggles give a good fit.
    2. FIT – Once you have found a good seal you should fit the headstrap by careful adjustment. The goggle should sit comfortably around the nose and create a good seal. The seal around the corner of the eye should sit comfortably and not wrap too far around the corner of the eye.
    3. STYLE – Check how you look in the mirror! We always recommend trying 2-3 different models, this will help you compare fit, comfort and will validate your purchase decision.
A goggle fitting video can be found on facebook.com/zoggsuk
As far as Zoggs is concerned we have many goggles for you to try but I suggest you try Predator Flex which has flexible points around the nose and eyes or Fusion Air which is a lower profile goggle that has an air cushion seal for extra comfort and reduces around the eye marking.
